I pass a review of Spinodude amargasaurus as you can see the skin is very detailed. Surely you see the figure better in person than in the promotional photos.

After what I've seen, I'm realizing that, as far as I'm concerned, I'm not fair in my negative criticisms of that figure,  :-[  :-X I've given you the link,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MMP0H0E9XU

That review makes me want to get it even more. As I've stated before, I really, really liked last year's Diplodocus interpretation, and this Amarga model seems to have many of the characteristics that made the Diplo a showstopper.

I'm still curious about Safari's next sauropod...

Blade-of-the-Moon

I love it, and I can't wait to scale it up for my lifesize juvenile Amarga!

If you don't mind, would you be able to post a picture of the anky and papo styraco side by side? I want to get a better idea of its size. The safari site says it's as wide as a pop can! Which seems pretty chunky to me. Thanks.
I will when I get home. It is slightly wider than a Sam Adams beer bottle, I know that much XD

hehe, I just happened to have a beer to compare it with last night
This is the gallery with some comparisons between Anky and styraco:

Shonisaurus

The size of the ankylosaurus is more than acceptable, neither very large nor very small. Of medium large size. It is a great figure and perhaps in my opinion the best ankylosaurus made to date by a toy company.

danmalcolm

Wow great pics! Thanks a lot. Looks like the perfect siZe.

tanystropheus

It looks as if it is about the size of the Saichania (World of History by Schleich).

Neosodon

A comparison shot with the Carnegie anky would be nice.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

Dromaenychus

If I manage to figure out where I put the Carnegie one, I will

Come on, Safari, bring on that other sauropod, and any remaining prehistoric animals!

I am so impressed by the new Uintatherium and Megacerops. Now I want to know when they are going to reveal the Hyaenodon.

Faelrin

We should be getting another reveal next week around the weekend, if they continue like they have been. I honestly hope that Hyaenodon thing and titanosaur will be revealed by then, and some other nice surprises that have yet to be shown.

since they have retired a few prehistoric themed toobs, think we might get any new ones?

I certainly hope so! But their terrible Dinosaurs and Dino Babies Toobs persist. They only retired the good Toobs.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

yes I really wish theyd redo those early ones, they are extremely outdated. Seems weird to focus so much attention on scientifically accurate up to date dinos but the ones in the toobs still look stuck in the 90's.

Yeah, half the figures in the Dinosaurs toob are directly copied from the old Mini Carnegie Collection. Come on Safari, I think you've made a good return on your investment by this point! Time to retire the crappy stuff and make more good toobs!

I haven't kept up with this entire thread due to lack of time. Have all the new Safari releases been revealed yet? Or are there more figures coming out next year?

There's still the mystery sauropod, the possible hyenadon, and maybe a few more surprise releases.

Hopefully, the 2018 dinosaurs and prehistoric animals will be as many as thirteen copies last year. It would be fantastic! But at least we'll have to wait until this Friday for new revelations.

I was just browsing the Safari Ltd website, on their Dinosaur Toys page, and I noticed lots of figures have been revealed.

The Hyaenodon has been revealed! Here: https://www.safariltd.com/hyaenodon-gigas
There's also a new Dimetrodon: https://www.safariltd.com/dimetrodon
A Macrauchenia: https://www.safariltd.com/macrauchenia
The orange titanosaur turns out to be a Malawisaurus: https://www.safariltd.com/malawisaurus
There is a brand new Triceratops: https://www.safariltd.com/triceratops

So my first thoughts on all of these. I really like the Hyaenodon. It does have a hyena color scheme going on, but I think it looks awesome. I want to get this one.

The Dimetrodon is nice and seems up to date. It does have scales though. I do like the color scheme on the Papo one more, but this isn't a bad color scheme by any means. Edit: Strangely the claws don't seem painted properly, but I wonder if that is a quality control issue. Second Edit: Wish they wouldn't call snyapsids that old outdated term. Synapsids are not reptiles. Fourth Edit: The new Reptiles tag was for Dimetrodon. It wasn't a reptile though. Ugh.

I'll probably get the Macrauchenia at some point. Such a weird creature, and I'm sure it'll make a nice companion for the Doedicurus and Megatherium (assuming they lived together). I like the color scheme this one has.

I'm not too familiar with Malawisaurus, but I suppose it is a nice choice for sauropod species. Might be the first figure of this genus too. I'm not sure if the tiger color scheme fits such a massive herbivore though, but it looks nice. Third Edit: Seems smaller then the new Amargasaurus. What were they thinking?

I'm really glad there is a new Triceratops, though I did just pick up the older one pretty recently. I'm super glad there is a more up to date, and thus more accurate one though. Looks like the integument was taken into account which is pretty sweet as well.
