REally impressive collection, I enjoyed looking at your pics, group shots are fun to see and offer the possibility of comparing models.

PhilSauria

Thanks for your comments Patrick, it means a lot to me.

I have followed your You Tube channel for a couple of years and although I don't speak your language (pardon my ignorance) I have enjoyed seeing the figures that you have shown and especially enjoyed the video where you counted your entire collection - now that is a very impressive collection!

Killekor

Thanks for the photos, Philsauria! That sauropod figure look really strange, with that pose. It almost looks as it's incubating some eggs.
Also the Concavenator look nice. It's a shame that Mattel is making such an horrible distribution of their products.

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Always exciting to see updated photos in collection threads, makes me happy to see others collections!
Even Some Chinasaurus have their charms ;D

NEW ACQUISITIONS + ARRIVALS

Some arrivals through the post and one purchase off the display hook.

These three arrived in two deliveries late in the week to further swell the ranks of my growing PNSO collection (and shrinking bank balance!). Just ordered the Dakosaurus this morning after seeing it listed at a more reasonable price than it has been so far.

I really like this figure - it just has so much life! Makes a lot of the models around it look like, well, toys.

And this one I picked up this morning as part of my campaign to grab the remaining Mattels of interest to me before they all disappear (and cost way too much on eBay). Passed over this one initially but it's worth having.

avatar_PhilSauria @PhilSauria   I congratulate you on your new acquisitions, the PVC dinosaurs in standard format are fabulous. In my case I decided to buy the stegosaurus on Aliexpress yesterday without the box at a cheaper price. I have always affirmed the same thing that you mention in your post. The dinosaurs and prehistoric animals of PNSO are destined more to collectors than to children. I also congratulate you on this dracorex from Mattel.

Your newest acquisitions are wonderful, I like them very much! Great to see your collection growing further!

The cute little no name plastic Apatosaurus in your posting #259 has a twin here in Germany, I bought this
little fellow, too, approx. 5 years ago in a german supermarket chain, called "Tedi", it is a supermarket, where
the most things have a prize of 1 Euro (european currency), the Apatosaurus had the prize of 1 Euro, too.

Really crazy to see this little cuty now in your collection at the other end of the earth, nearly 22.000 km´s far
away...

Those new PNSOs look great! Can't wait to unbox mine.

CUSTOM BASE

Last year I bought a large (and heavy) unbranded Tyrannosaurus off of one of the sellers on Ali Express. It also came with a base, which I did not buy but there were enough images on the site shown from various angles with measurements for me to try and make one of my own. The finished result did not dry evenly so took a bit of work to stabilize and in the end took up too much space on the shelf so I set about making one of my own design, using plastic plants, real stones for rocks and a real twig for a tree, the latter to better support yet another therapod figure that regularly fell on its side after standing okay on its initial arrival. (same old story) Other members on this Forum have come up with much better bases but I though that this one turned out okay and more importantly did the job it was created for - keeping the occupant upright! Base and figure in-situ below.

Shonisaurus

You gave me an idea PhilSauria to stabilize that giant tyrannosaurus. I bought it for Christmas and suffer the same stability problems that you mention so I have to keep it on the plastic base of the packaging but with those images you are giving me a good idea.

ceratopsian

Don't be too hard on your efforts!  I think it's a successful base and does its job very well. Plus it is definitely well beyond my capabilities!

Jose S.M.

I think the base looks great, it has details and decorations but doesn't take focus away from the figure.

Killekor

You did a great work making that base, Philsauria! Congratulations!

KeU

Looks great.
Impressive work.
I would to love make bases as well.
But have not started putting in the effort to figure it out.

Halichoeres

Nice work on the base! I think I actually like it better than the figure that stands on it.

Firstly, thanks for the comments on that base, it's not great but turned out better than I expected so I have a few more roughed out ready for models that I already have or will do in a matter of time. Now...

NEW ACQUISITIONS

In my efforts to acquire any Mattel JW figures that were of interest to me but not already in my possession I used the opportunity of a toy sale in one the big three department stores in our nearest mall (school holidays here at the moment) to pick up the Ankylosaurus, payed $9 less than it had been marked. The Mattel stocks seemed to have been replenished, though with more of the same figures that we always see here but on a hunch I flicked through the endless rows of Pteranodons, Raptors and Dracorex - and found one solitary Mussaurus! So I bagged that one no questions asked!

And out of the packs.

The Mussaurus sits up in the Sauropod area alongside these two similarly juvenile-looking specimens.

Bokisaurus

Wow, great new additions! Nice that the PNSO finally made it to your collection, beautiful lot ya?
I like that Diorama base you made more than the rex ;D What is that plant you used, looks really nice.

PhilSauria

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Big rexy has taken a couple of swipes here but he/she has a tough hide (and is made of very solid pvc) and can take it!

The plants were cut down plastic palm trees that I picked up for loose change from one of the sellers on Ali Express. If you search for plastic trees you can pick up all sorts of stuff. A while back I ordered a bag of assorted size palm trees aprox 5-6 inches / 10-15 cm high and have made clay bases for them and placed these in various spots among the display shelves just to add a sense of environment and interest to the groups of Dinosaurs.

And speaking of PNSO the Dakosaurus arrived last night, very pleased with it.
