Dinomike

A great collection! That Troodon is outstanding.
Check out my new Spinosaurus figure: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=5099.0

That Quetzalcoatlus is super cool! For once a pterosaur in a flying stance that's not plain boring.

As in principle - I do not normally collect fiction items:
I figured that all those JP Toys, Action figures, battle beasts & accessories are best left for the young in heart ...  ^-^
Maybe I just don't want my dinosaurs to feel insulted by the presence of those Action figures next to them -
As I was saying to them: "You're all product of fertile imagination anyway, so suck it up !"

But, sometimes one just can't resist :

X-Plus , King-Kong Vastatosaurus-Rex ( V-rex, what the heck ? ... ).

As I would never let the I-Rex from JP4 into my collection - this one could easily pass as just another T-rex.
I think it would look lovely next to the other Big Vinyl figures ( Sega, Happinet, etc. ).

The only problem is - The box is so nice that I just can't find it in my heart, not yet, to take it out.
well, This gives me an idea for a 'Boxed items' collection thread later on ...

Shonisaurus

It would be good news that a company such as Rebor to give an example one day Indomimus rex apart from those in the market.

Vastatosaurus and Indomimus are fictional figures but both "hook" one to buy them. In fact I will buy the Vastatosaurus from the Rebor company even if they call it in another way.  :)

The V-rex looked a bit lonely - so I just now got him some friends :

Kaiyodo Jurassic Park Figure Collection - King Kong bottle cap Seven-Eleven limited :

As this set is comprized of 10 figures :
Details on each
All 10 figures on show
On Amazon

I only collect Dinosaurs - so there's only 3 :

mgaguilar

Absolutely beautiful finds.

That larger V-Rex in particular I remember being an item of controversy due to its non-representation of the animal on screen.
I'm glad it found its way into your collection for that reason! Delicious irony.  ;)

Decided to have a go at some more small  unorthodox  figures -
Just got those :
Epoch's ( エポック社 ) Dinosaur fierce fighting edition ( 恐竜激闘編 ) - Great Dinosaur Battle King - A Dinosaur fighting story :

Gachapon Capsule Collection of 5 types of dinosaurs released in 2006
and distributed in dinosaur Expo, Makuhari, 2008.

Some references :

https://ameblo.jp/gachaderuyo/entry-10445551333.html
https://4travel.jp/travelogue/10234869

There are 5 dinos :
● Tyrannosaurus
● Giganotosaurus
● Triceratops
● Allosaurus
● Ankylosaurus

It is made of some hard high quality material, I think Resin -
but it is not entirely stiff, somewhat resembles the Yujin Dino Encyclopedia.
I think some other stuff was mixed inside ( didn't we say we need a chemist here, on DTF ?? ).

It comes in several parts that fits perfectly :

The 5  figures should attach together - I'm not sure what the order should be ...
You can have a try too :

ceratopsian

A handsome set that's new to me.  Thanks for showing.

Shonisaurus

Thanks for the photography Brontoscorpio. Honestly the oriental dinosaurs do not cease to surprise me positively.  :)

Megalosaurus

Woooowwww!
I love "unorthodox figures" as you call them. I'm happy you shared this, I'll try to get them too.
If you have more surprises likes this, keep sharing them.
Thanks.

Thank you all for your comments.

Next,  I let this one go once or twice, due to my false notion I allready have it.
Of course I was wrong, and after realizing my mistake it took quite a long time of waiting for the next chance of aquiring it :

Only after seeing the box, an unexperienced eye can notice this is NOT the Kaiyodo 2006 version.
This is of course a much bigger later version :

The Fukui Dinosaur Museum Collection Fukuiraptor desktop model by Favorite Co. , prototype by Kazunari Araki :

Some links -

- The real model exhibit on the museum

The Artist Blog  :
- The complete serie of three figures
- The prototype for the model
- The Kaiyodo smaller version

The Kaiyodo smaller version has a most wonderful counter-part 'Fukuisaurus', which is one of the best Resin cold cast statues out there -
and is specially one of my favorits : the Fukuisaurus cold cast Resin

Now, to compare the two version, see what I'm talking about :

See how big the 'Favorite' statue next to the Kaiyodo.

The 3 Araki Kazunari Fukuiraptors :
- Favorite soft model
- Kaiyodo Cold cast Resin
- Favorite desktop model

Could I use your picture of Fukuiraptor in the Favorite resins reference thread (with credit, of course..) ?
There is already one about the model (taken from the web) but it's quite small...

BrontoScorpio

Of course - I would be honoured ! ...  :)) :))
Even though I suspect there must be much better pictures out there on the web -
mine were taken at night - with poor lightning, as you can see.

Thank you.
First picture added.
I just used Photoshop to make it a little bit "strong"..  ;)

Nice to see Araki fixed the wrists for the Favorite versions.

BrontoScorpio I certify that Favorite's fukuiraptor are very nice figures. I have the weakest figure in the PVC group and I can say that I like it just like when I bought it from eBay.

The resin are big words.  :)

BrontoScorpio

Robin, If pics are so important - you could have asked me to send you a better, high resolution one.
Helichoeres, what's wrong with the wrists of the Kaiyodo version, other than they are slightly different angle ?

The one you posted was enough for the Favorite reference thread (just a little bit under-exposed).
I'm quite good with Photoshop..
Your picture is in the Favorite thread with credits.
Thank you.

BrontoScorpio: the angle of the Kaiyodo's wrists is probably impossible because theropod ulnae and radii didn't rotate around each other the way they do in a human arm. This is what people complain about when they talk about pronated wrists. It's very unlikely that a theropod could have made its palms face backward.
