Must have mixed elephant DNA with the frogs huh? :P
That aside though, I'm really glad they're using more animatronics, even if it's gonna be hard to ever top the first movie in that regard.

Primeval12

So... Nasutoceratops confirmed for the sequel. Awesome.

Faelrin

So it was a Nasutoceratops after all. That's pretty awesome that they are bringing those over from BaBR (though I suppose I'm not too surprised. I wonder if the Allosaurus will be showing up too). Though this one does look a little different from the one in BaBR. Could be a different one though.

Also anyone else see that animatronic in the back? I think I know what that is.

Spoiler
I messed around in Gimp by cropping it, upsizing it, and increasing the sharpness. And well it looks like a certain beloved theropod. Or it could be something completely different and new like an oviraptorid. Just need to wait for now, but interesting and exciting nontheless.

If the different series of the JP franchise are just reflections of a singular direction, I won't be surprised if they use the Allosaurus as the "villain" opposite Rexy's anti-hero status as seen in the JW Lego series.  I mean, sure, it's a farfetched idea to think that JW3's plot is a mirror of a children's show but I won't be surprised.

I'll just echo sentiments posted on the other thread, BaBR seems to have just unloaded baggageplot points so that JW3 can start the movie immediately in the middle of the dinosaur "takeover" (for lack of a better word).

Can't see enough to make a proper i.d.  The elongated neck is a good indication but there are a few species that have that.

Scaling it to the extension cord that passes behind it and the fact it appears to be sitting on top of a work station I would guess it is either a small scale maquette or a commercial toy that someone is decorating their station with. The colour looks like a lot of todays urethane casting resins and since most toys aren't monochrome these days could be a unpainted cast. If it is even a dinosaur, so indistinct could be anything.

It's probably a smaller sculpt to scan or reference for making the internal frames for final puppets or animatronics. As to what it is, Dilophosaurus seems like a safe guess, as it's either that or a completely new animal.

According to Colin Trevorrow's Twitter account Steve Brusatte is on board JW3 as a consultant.

CityRaptor

Well, that should be interesting.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Blade-of-the-Moon

Hard to figure just what that means, Horner was an expert but he was generally looked over or ignored about a lot of things.

Loon

I feel like any paleontological consulting is going to begin and end at "hey, here's a cool new dinosaur".

Brocc21

That is how Jp3 turned out so you're probably not wrong.
"Boy do I hate being right all the time."

Blade-of-the-Moon

i mean I guess he could advise on any new species or ones getting an upgrade, maybe a JP/JW version vs a real life counterpart?  Example " I don't understand, how can a (insert species) be losing to a ( insert species ) ? " " Our's was not designed for this, back then we didn't even know they had to have this feature. "

Just speculation, maybe more like you said Loon. I can see it now.." Look the HANDS are right at least. "
lol

Dinoxels

I loved his recent book, but probably not much scientific evidence will be brought into this movie.

I hope they'll actually listen to him. I just read his book and it's great. He's very good at explaining that dinosaurs were just normal animals, but still imposing and fascinating. The Jurassic Park/World franchise could use some of that...

It was a main theme of the first film, Grant even basically says " They're just big animals. " Spielberg was really on that at first.

I'm not holding my breath for a push towards accuracy in the final Jurassic film. But I never give up hope. With dinosaur cloning technology now widespread among the masses I can see a sub-plot in there where someone is manufacturing accurate dinosaurs. I'm not saying it would make for a good story or anything, just that the possibility is still there that we might see a more accurate something-or-other. A scene where Owen meets a "real" Velociraptor could be fun.

Blue meeting her "kin" could be cool too. lol
