There is a new FREE game in the Apple Canadian and American App Stores, called Jurassic Park Builder.

Jurassic Park Builder is a mobile game, available for the iTouch, iPhone and iPad, which combines the best elements from past Jurassic Park-themed 'Zoo Tycoon'-style games, such as Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis for the PC and Jurassic Park 3: Park Builder for the Game Boy Advanced.

The goal of the game is obvious; to create the ultimate Jurassic Park! Over 30 different species are included, as well as a wide cast of characters from all three films. By expanding your park, you have the chance to find Amber which can be analyzed in the lab for a chance to find rare "Dino DNA". Characters from the films will give you different missions to help you a long the way. You can link your game to your Facebook account to get help from your friends. There is also a special mini game mode called Code Red where you have to stop your dangerous carnivores from escaping. The graphics are also quite stunning.

Since getting this game, I haven't been able to put my phone down. I am obsessed. I just can't stress how good the game actually is! I am currently Level 30 (max is 35), so I do not yet have access to all of the game's Species and Character Missions. I have put a list of the so far confirmed Characters and Species.

Do you have to spend real money to get things in the game? I know a lot of free games do that.

Some things cost 'dino-bucks', so yes you do need to use real money, but you can earn dino bucks by beating challenges. Only like 4 or 6 species cost dino bucks anyway.

So I've been playing this game since this thread was started and I must say it is quite addictive but also...really frustrating. All the challenges are simple and repetitive. Build a road. Take down a road. Collect meat. Collect crops. Move a building. Clear land. Buy something. Sell something. Over and over again and I'm at level 12. Also, everything is really expensive! I just spent over 32,000 coins in this game trying to level up my Ankylosaurus with most of the attempts to do so failing and ultimately running out of coins. Also, why does a single animal need over 500 pieces of meat or plant material? I collect food from the harbor and it is used up on two feedings. Frustrating, as I said. Still though I am addicted. I'm checking this game every time the thought to do so enters my head. It is one of the last things I do at night and one of the first in the morning or when I return from work. I don't know why, really it is quite mundane and boring. Hopefully it will get better otherwise I can see myself running out of enthusiasm really quick. I certainly won't spend even a single real dollar on this thing.

I just got an ipad and decided to try this out for myself ;) I went on a spending spree and now I have to wait for some eggs to hatch to make some money back...

Just reading my rant up there and wow, I complained a lot about that game! And you know what, I still have the same issues with it but I'm still playing it. Not nearly as much though.

I have this game and I play with my girlfriend and friends  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

So, is there a way for us to share our parks?

I took screenshots once and stitched them together in photoshop, but thats a bit cumbersome... Other than that I dont think so.

What about through social media? The app wants to connect to Facebook, but I'm hesitant.

I've been logged in through facebook from the start.
The only time it wants to share something on there is when you get a new dinosaur or level up, and you can cancel that.
It is possible to view other parks though, but only from your friends so I guess we'll need to make a dinotoyforum-JPBuilder group on facebook... :P

I've been playing this on facebook. It keeps luring me back in with the promise of the new dinosaurs I can get if I raise enough money for extracting the DNA and then buying the damn things. It gets silly sometimes, like when Compsognathus is somehow more expensive (and lucrative) than a Triceratops. The aquatic and glacial expansion parks are even siller, though I can appreciate why a Leedsicthys would be substantially more expensive than the last creature I got.

I linked jp builder to my Facebook. :) Now, who is going to create a dinotoyforum jp builder group, and will that mean we can help each other out? Or do we all have to be friends as well?
