CityRaptor

Well, they are the most commonly reproduced prehistoric mammal, after all.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Still another plush mammoth. What a lot there are!

I quite like them, but then I'm a sucker for elephants. It would be cool if companies made more unusual critters like chalicotheres or thylacoleos, though.

Killekor

Hi at everyone,
I want only to Say: stay tuned for the REBOR triplets rewiew.

Thanks.

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Biased?

I think bias is alright, as it has already been said- it's a personal review. If Killekor wants to praise the Rebor models, they can! And for the most part I agree with what they say!
But...they don't completely skip out the bad parts- it has even been mentioned about the fingers on Rudy snapping off.

Even in my guest reviews I have been quite positive towards the figures. Sometimes it's going to be like that. You can't find a flaw in something you like with ease- and if you can, it might not even be a flaw to you, for example the articulated jaw split with the community, or the base split, or the colour schemes.

Even small things like, for example, the teeth on the Wild Safari Elasmosaurus. Personally, I like them (I don't own the figure though) as they are pretty typical of a fish eater. But some people, for example REBOR Studio, don't like them like that.

I think the best reviews balance the pros and cons of a particular figure while also acknowledging the writers own opinion. These reviews are personal thoughts of course, but they're written in part to help other collectors decide if they want to pull the trigger on the product. I try to be balanced in my reviews, though I'm not sure I always succeed. There is a lot more wrong with the Rebor hatchling that is highlighted which I think is a shame. You can like a model while simultaneously acknowledging its flaws (just read any of my Dakin reviews). Some slack should naturally be given to younger or new reviewers but there is nothing wrong with criticizing a review. It helps improve the reviewer as a writer and upholds the integrity of the DTB which ASAIC is THE place to go for dinosaur toy insight.

Being well-informed on the latest information, discoveries, and theories about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals is also essential. If you think that REBOR of all companies produces scientifically accurate products, then you need to stop watching your JP Ultimate Edition boxset and crack open a recent book or two.

I definately don't agree with the accuracy- they are clearly a hybrid of JP designs and own personal ideas. But I think they are quite well-designed and look good for what they are. Even if the craftmanship isn't so good...  :(

I agree.

I hope noone is thinking I'm being angry or trying to argue here.

I just feel like CityRaptor seemed a little too...mean? I don't know the exact words for what I take their compliment as....I guess they seem, like... disappointing and angry at the same time.
Sorry if this wasn't your intent CityRaptor but I just felt like sticking up for Killekor.  :-[

Perhaps for poorly received reviews (or even just dated reviews) another writer could create a foreword for the review?

What would be included in this foreword you propose?

I guess it would vary as was deemed necessary. I'm just saying that sometimes a review can gather a lot of negative feedback, and a brief note stating that individual reviews do not represent a consensus of all involved parties and that opinions vary on the piece in question would probably set a lot of people at ease.
