Summertime,... time to take out more "dinos" for a swim....

Click!

Hopefully they don't sink, or at least the water is shallow.

In fact I shoot most of those underwater photos in the Rhine river, so there's quite a current even when you just step in two or three metres where it is still shallow (like half a metre deep). So a sinking figure might be better for "safety" of loss, but in fact I find sinking marine animals somewhat weird. All my CollectA's seem to sink (though they are made from varying plastics), Bullylands all swim and Schleichs (at least the recent whales, didn't test others) swim, but seem to have only a slightly lower density than water, so you can easily submerge them for a while. With Bullylands you need to be fast as they return to the surface quite quick :)

Nice to see this one reviewed finally. Also great images. I have to wonder if I was aware of this figure as a kid. I recall coming across some site that sold animal models (something with zoo in the name, Minizoo perhaps? If it was around in the early 2000's), and I distinctively recall a jellyfish model that was called Medusa (that I wanted of course).

Papo Dimorphodon:
http://dinotoyblog.com/2018/07/19/dimorphodon-papo/

Great review, albeit, a bit on the critical side of the spectrum. I agree, they should have at least got the head right, unless they had the JP Dimorphodon in mind and it was intentional. It's hard to say.

Don't think anyone will be topping the CollectA version. It would be cool if CollectA miniaturizes their Deluxe Dimorphodon.

CityRaptor

Oh, I'm pretty sure that they had the JW one in mind. Just because not every Papo Dinosaur looks like the JP versions does not mean that they completely stopped drawing inspiration from that franchise.  See also their Compsognathus.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

While updating the shortlist for the Top 10 dromaeosaurid and troodontid toys poll, I tried to find out if this Primeval raptor is meant to represent any particular genus: http://dinotoyblog.com/2016/01/14/raptor-primeval-by-character-options/

Based on several sources, including the DTB review, it doesn't seem clear what genus it's meant to be, but none of them suggest it's intended to represent Velociraptor.  Therefore, I'd suggest removing the "Velociraptor" category for this review.

Yes. I just moved it from Velociraptor to Deinonychus, as that's what avatar_Dilopho @Dilopho said it is in the review.

Dilopho

In the show and figure, the dinosaur is just "raptor" (as they can't possibly know the species from just looking at the living animal lol) BUT the same model is reused in-show a few series later for Deinonychus. So I'll just say it's that. ^^

The Iguanodon from Dinosaur. Is this the first such review?

Funny you posted that, I have a review coming soon for one of the Carnotaurus toys.
