What is this set? What store did you come across it?  Either way, I want to buy it--can you wait until September (I've surpassed my figure budget this month already)?  Or are you in need of any CollectA/Safari figures in trade?

deanm

Hi Sbell,

I have three sets for sale. I will hold one for you (your offer of trading Collecta is very appealing - there are a few of this years releases I am after also).

Cheers,
Dean

Let me know what you need--the only one I currently don't have access to is the Aregentinosaurus and T.rex with prey (ran out of the former, never got the latter).

Blackdanter

ZoPteryx

These are really cool!  Could you put one on hold for me too Deanm? ;D

SBell

I am pleased to have this pterosaur set now--although I disagree with some of your names.  I would suggest Dorygnathus instead of Scaphognathus (the heterodont teeth).

As for the Campylognathoides, the snout reminds me more of Cacibupteryx or, oddly, Scaphognathus! Probably the latter.

I guess some of it is guess work, since they aren't meant to be detailed museum figures. And rhamphorhynchoid heads can be quite similar overall.

One side note--David Peters' bombardment of unique takes on pterosaur anatomy has made it very difficult to find images of various pterosaur skulls/heads online (I ignored the body anatomy, as the figures just have different heads attached to the same rhamphorhynchoid body).

It's true. And they are already scant as it is. I went all googly-eyed when Scott Hartman did his first pterosaur skeletal and wish he would do many more. I'm really looking forward to Mark Witton's book.

No worries on the idents - as I look on the rhamphorhynchoids I have to agree with you.  :)

What book is that? ???
Is that smiley meant to signify curiosity or disbelief, Zopteryx?  :P

I don't know the title, but I gather he will have a book of pterosaurs out in due course. I expect there'll be many good skeletals in it.

Bokisaurus

OMG, been gone for a while and missed this opportunity :-[
Those are cool set! Where did you find them again? If you ever come across a set again, do snag me one... please? :)

Why curiosity of course! :))

That book sounds very cool, like a pterosaur version of GSP's dinosaur field guide.
