Wow, excellent taste and beautiful figures!

Bombyx

Hello! A new model has arrived yesterday in my collection.
This Concavenator (1/18th) is the first model sculpted and painted by Sean Cooper I received and for sure it is not the last one. I think I will also order his Dunkleosteus which seems to be huge! The details on this Concavenator are really thin (especially the spikes on its back and head). The base is just wonderful and I particulary like the details of the footprints on the ground. Often the bases are so boring (as for most of the Sideshow models for example). The back of the base is signed by Sean Cooper himself. And it is exactly the kind of detail that collectors as me like a lot. The pose is really dynamic and gracious. He really seems to run!

The pose and sculpture of that concavenator is fabulous, Sean Cooper makes resin figures of outstanding quality.

It is awesome.

I will soon receive three new models I bought on second hand market! They are not yet in my hand so I am not able to make more photos but as soon as they have arrived at the office, I will create new album on My Dinocave facebook page.

- The first one is the famous David Krentz' Tyrannosaurus from Sideshow. It was repainted (I don't know by whom) and my project is to ask to a painter to repaint it as the original model. The original color scheme is, in my opinion much better. It is a limited edition of 350 copies.

- The second one is a 1/15th Nasutoceratops sculpted by Andrew Sides and painted by Martin Garratt.

- The third and last one is a 1/20th Torvosaurus tanneri sculpted by Cheung Chung Tat from Dino-Soar Studio and painted by Martin Garratt. It is a limited edition of 10 copies.

I congratulate you avatar_Bombyx @Bombyx  on your new acquisitions the Sideshow tyrannosaurus is a true wonder, as it refers to the nasutoceratops of Andrew Sides that is a true work of art, for the pose and detail, you are very fortunate to have such limited edition and painted by the brilliant Martin Garratt.

As for Cheung Chung's torvosaurus, it is perhaps my favorite figure of the three mentioned and shown since tyrannosaurs other than his star tyrannosaurus rex are very rare even in relation to resin sculptures.

My congratulations, Bombyx.

Congratulations on three excellent additions to come your way. I confess to a soft spot for the Sides Nasutoceratops. That was the first custom painted model I ever commissioned. I still love Martin's work on it and it launched me on the path of adding customs to complement my toys.

Hey I see that your profil image is the nasuto, right? I fully understand that Martin's job launched you on the path of customs. It is so nice to buy a resin kit and then to see it coming to life with colors.

I totally agree with you; I really don't understand why a person should cover up the original paint scheme with such dull colors...  ::)
I also like the original painting much more than this.
I did my pre-order about the Krentz' recasting of his "Rex Mundi" on Dan's Dinosaurs; when it will be ready, I'll ask to Mr. Garratt to paint the model with the Krentz' scheme of the Sideshow rex..  8)

I contacted Steve Riojas (jhe was in charge of the color scheme of several Dinosauria line at SS) and he agreed to repaint it for me as the original one!

Martin Garratt is still continuing the order I placed to him (5 dinosaurs). Here is the third one, not really a dino in fact: TERROR BIRD!
It is sculpted by Lai from DinoDino. I still have it my hands and will make more photos asap.

I am not familiar with Lao and DinoDino.  It's a fine piece of work.

Lai is one of my favorite Chinese artist. There is a diorama I am looking for since several months ago:

Actually I was only able to purchased the pterodactyl you can see on the right side of the scene (Martin is painting it for me) but I am missing the three other models and the rock and I am really sad. I hope one day the full dioarma will be mine. If you are not familiar with his work, I advise you to check his facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/dinodinostudio/?tn-str=k*F

He also sculpt a lot of beautiful animals.
He told me he will make another new dino before the end of the year. For sure it will be mine too.
