Lockdown reading arrived a few days ago and so only just opened:

avatar_triceratops83 @triceratops83 ? @Stolpergeist and avatar_ceratopsian @ceratopsian My congratulations on your new acquisitions.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin That Mattel sarcosuchus could honestly replace the unfortunately definitely absent Rebor sarcosuchus, I understand it to be of an acceptable size.

avatar_ceratopsian @ceratopsian : Is that book popular science or rather addressed at professionals?

avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor : here's the back cover for you to read.

Remember I haven't read it yet!

So I would say popularised.  But not simplistic.  It is aimed at an interested public who knows something about the subject.  Parts of it are a straightforward, quite chatty but very detailed account of the expeditions and results - this looks very readable; but with some more technical discussions included as well.

It's well illustrated with lots of photos and diagrams - very wide range from dinosaur stamps through to things like "A hypothesis of structure of the upper molar of the pseudotribosphenic Shuotherium dongi......", and a lot in between these extremes.

I am not a professional (and I'm a Latinist and Parthian specialist, not a scientist), but I don't think it will give me trouble to read.

I should also say that this second edition is newly published - 2020.

I got this the other day. I want to do a review of Xtractaurs even though I don't have the full set. The ebay seller of this lowered the price and I figured it would be nice to have a boxed example of the toy line. I'll get to work on that as soon as I find the CD-ROM that came with the starter set.

These arrived in the mail about half an hour ago. I haven't opened them yet. I also plan on reviewing them.

Just received the CollectA Excalibosaurus in the mail. A very good figure. They sure do make some fine marine reptiles these days.

Here it is with lovely "Levy" the Eurhinosaurus by PNSO. These are two very complimentary figures, and they look great! Nice sculpts on both.

EDIT: Hmm, guess I didn't realize that Photobucket insists on money now to simply host an image without plastering their stupid watermark over it. Well, forget them.

I will not be part of such shameful advertising here, so I took the photos down. Sorry guys.

Thanks Shonisaurus, still cool figures!

Shonisaurus

I congratulate you on the acquisition of the excalibosaurus from Collecta. Nice shape.

It's a weird set, definitely needs a review, even if partial! If you're close to the full set will you be selling any after your review? I've been trying to find the Yingshanosaurus for some time.

PNSO box of 48 minis arrived yesterday. Some absolutely brilliant figures--Liaoceratops, Tianyulong, Ectenosaurus, Atopodentatus, Nemicolopterus, Odontochelys, Glyphoderma--just a spectacular group all around.

I saw that on the other thread where you posted your wishlist. Sadly, I do not have that one, nor was I planning on selling any that I have.

Shonisaurus

T @therizinosaurus I congratulate you on your new acquisitions. I have the 48 PNSO figures and I can assure you that they are exceptional. I share your point of view.

The best prehistoric amphibian figure made to date from my honest point of view. I totally agree that he is a spectacular figure.

This one has been on my wants list for years but as time goes by I suspect that the chance of getting hold of one gradually diminishes.

I hope Safari and CollectA start doing some Paleozoic amphibians next year.

In my case I would like a  Deluxe size diplocaulus from Safari or Collecta and an eryops.

Faelrin

avatar_suspsy @suspsy I did ask Safari Ltd up on instagram if they would be interested in producing some prehistoric amphibians and/or early tetrapods, and also mentioned as such in one of the survey things they did too. A toob would probably be the safest bet for many species that are neglected in general getting out there all at once, such as Tiktaalik, Acanthostega, Ichthyostega, Diplocaulus, Eryops, Platyhystrix, Cacops, Diadectes, Seymouria, Koolasuchus, Beelzebufo, and of course Mastodonsaurus like the Bullyland figure ? @Stolpergeist acquired recently (congrats on getting that one btw), and many many more. Most of the existing figures for much of those genera are either long retired and are already either hard to come by, or should be expected to be harder to get as time goes on, or don't even have figures as of yet.

Other then Safari Ltd, CollectA would be who I would place bets on getting some of these out there, though I'm not sure how to go about asking them. Deluxe figures would also be nice, such as one of Diplocaulus like avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus suggested here. And since this makes the third year CollectA has released Paleozoic animals in a row (even if at the request of a museum), I can only hope they do something special for next year (if not the above, then hopefully an eurypterid, which are also much neglected, especially in western markets).
