I think unbranded and/or unidentified is a good way to go.

I have always liked "dime-a-saur" myself; it keeps the wordplay. But it hasn't really gotten much traction.

Thanks for your comments. After what I've read, I will probably continue with "Un-branded". It will take a little while now, because of a small and a big update, but I think it will be a fun category.

I like the idea of uploading our own figures, as there are quite a few I own that I'd like to see in the database.

Also, I agree with avatar_Crackington @Crackington that the Chinasaurs term might be problematic. I always thought "Cheaposaurs" would suit them better, as most of the figures we enjoy come from China. The only issue would be categorizing them, as so many of them have been copied into oblivion.

I've also been a fan of Cheaposaur but that has two issues--one, there can be cheap and terrible figures from 'brands' (looking at you, Wild Republic). And occasionally a figure with no particular brand isn't necessarily cheap or terrible...unless someone knows who made the Basel Museum Tsinataosaurus, for example

Maybe Genericosaur or Generosaur. It should have 'saur' in there.

DinoToyCollector

I added the popular Aurora Prehistoric Scenes model kits with all their incarnations. It was quite a task but will hopefully be interesting for at least avatar_Crackington @Crackington  ;)
Unfortunately I have not many pictures of them. So if you can provide some it'll be very helpful :)

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector As I've recently acquired the Safari Ltd Prehistoric Crocodiles Toob (minus the Euparkeria that was oddly missing unfortunately), I'll be adding individual entries for those later today since they are missing at the moment, and the images I took today for them. I also got images of the Mattel Sauropelta and Amber Collection Charlie that I can add.

Edit: I've also added entries for numerous 2020 Mattel Jurassic World products:

-Attack Pack (Ankylosaurus) Bumpy
-Attack Pack Mussaurus (brown)
-Attack Pack Velociraptor (purple)
-Sound Strike Irritator
-Sound Strike Majungasaurus
-Sound Strike Parasaurolophus
-Sound Strike Sinoceratops
-Carnotaurus Toro
-Super Colossal Indominus Rex
-Epic Roarin' Tyrannosaurus
-Legacy Collection Escape from Isla Nublar Set

As well as a few fixes for some of the 2020, etc figures for better sorting consistency, any errors, etc.

Brilliant Stefan, thanks for adding them on!

If only I had a TARDIS and could go back over 30 years I could have provided photos for nearly all of them, and then went around my best mate who had the others! Alas they were all thrown out when l left home!

I'm very slowly trying to get at least some of the models again, utilising the Revell reissues too, but this is a long term project with two main challenges, lack of space (some are big and Mrs Crackington is not too fond of them!) and cost, the originals are getting so pricey!

I did manage to get a Sabre tooth tiger recently, a bit of a grail figure for me, though without it's base -a photo of which you were able to use - but hopefully other members can help populate these entries.

Thanks for putting them on anyway. 😊

Hi Faelrin, just sent Stefan a photo of the euparkeria, hope it's ok to use. Also sent some pictures of missing Cogs.

Faelrin

avatar_Crackington @Crackington Thanks for sending that one. I also just took and added pics of the Sea Life TOOB Liopleurodon and Metriorhynchus (which I forgot to do the other day), since those were also missing pics and I got those recently as well.

I also went and added product codes for the 2020 Mattel Battle Damage figures (for the Gasosaurus, black Velociraptor, and brown Triceratops), as well as the Postosuchus, and images for the Gasosaurus and Postosuchus now that I own them.

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector One of the pics that I added the other day for the Safari Ltd TOOB Chasmatosaurus is not showing up. When I went to add it again afterwards (just in case it didn't go through) it said it was already added. Any idea what's wrong? Does it show up for anyone else? https://dinotoycollector.com/Items/product.php?product_id=4463

I have no clue ??? I downloaded your file and it is working fine on my computer. I re-uploaded it and nothing changed. I converted it. I renamed it several times. I cleared my cache. I did everything possible, but still: it is not working. I try to make a screenshot from this pic now and save it in a new file. This is the most strange thing I have experienced with a picture (And I have seen very disturbing ones).

edit: nope this is not working, too

edit #2: In the database there was a space behind the Product Number. Not visible but very frustrating  ;) So it should have been this: "Safari Ltd-679804Chasmatosaurus_.jpg"

Faelrin

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Wow that's certainly an odd mistake for me to have made when creating the entry for it, but that's likely the result of copy and pasting. Thank you for figuring it out and fixing it. So sorry for any potential frustration with it as well.

Did a quick fix for the handling of the website. I was not aware that the adding process was kind of frustrating when adding more then 1 item.
Now you only have to click on the checkbox and 1 item is sent to your collection. This should ease the pain. I'm really sorry if someone thought it was intended to work this way  :(

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector I saw pics for Dinotales Sinosauropteryx - 010 and Diplocaulus - 014 are still missing. Since I have these figs in my possession now, would you like me to send photos?

I would really appreciate these pictures, yes. And thank you :)

Browsing your site on the Paleo-Creatures department I noticed you missed something (I saw you were really thorough in that and can't blame you missing that one). avatar_Jetoar @Jetoar made a sculpt of Atopodentatus before better remains of it were found. After that of course he made the new version that is in your database. EverythingDinosaur still has one copy of the first one if you need pictures of it. https://www.everythingdinosaur.com/product/paleo-creatures-atopodentatus/

Hi, avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector.  After taking a break from the hobby, I'd forgotten the password to my account.  However, when I click the 'Forgot password?' link, I just get a 404 error.  Is there any way to recover my account?

avatar_Tyto_Theropod @Tyto_Theropod  Seems like I've forgotten to set the right links after we changed the log in script. Please use this link: https://dinotoycollector.com/user/passwortvergessen.php
I am going to fix the problem tomorrow. Thanks for reporting and welcome back to our beloved hobby :-D

Nice spot! Will be added to the database. Do you know by any chance when this change happened?

stegosauria

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector by this post I would say in 2017 (in 2016 were found the better remains and in 2014 was named and described).

Thanks for getting back to me, avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector.  Unfortunately, I don't seem to have received the email.  I've tried submitting my address twice now.  Is waiting some time to be expected or is this another issue? ???
