Am I the only one seeing lots of red flags surrounding this?

- A company with a german name and the german flag in their logo is hosting their kickstarter from mexico.
- The kickstarter was launched by a person named Nadia Nayeli Pineda Clemente. Googling this name brings up zero relevant results.
- There are no names attached to it. We don´t know who´s behind the company, nor who the sculptor/artist is. I have the suspicion it might be Galileo Hernandez, which might explain why it´s kept a secret.
- They are asking for almost twice as much as David Silva´s raptor kickstarter, despite including less and smaller figures.
- Their social media sites barely get any updates.
- They claim that figures will be sent out 90 days after the kickstarter is funded, despite not appearing to have a clear infrastructure. They don´t even state what country the factory is in.

It just seems like they´re trying to sell a pipe dream and if this gets funded, I´d honestly be surprised if they keep their promises.

Thank your for this. I was impressed by these figures since they first showed up. But all these things you are pointing out are making suspicious. I wrote to them a long time ago and never received any answer. That happens and that's okay. While looking who they are I was also very confused by the logo showing a german name, flag and a german city as headquarters. But you barely get any information on WHO they are. So I was looking forward to this campaign to finally found out more and now... Mexico? I also thought of Galileo Hernandez since the sculpts are in a very similar style but there's no proof of that. It makes sense they are sending their prototypes to Andy from Andys Dinosaur Reviews on YouTube. He's promoting these figures exclusively to get people hyped before the kickstarter begins. Normal business to make some advertising.

The point is: I share your feelings about the whole thing. The figures are looking good, business is confusing and I don't like the begging hand emoji on every single instagram post.

I like the models a lot. If there is a possibility Galileo is involved, this might mean lots of delays and problems in the future. Also, why is the Red Rex more expensive? It's the exact same model in the exact same size. If they can make a green and brown one with equal prices, they could do the same for the red rex. I don't like that at all.

Only red flags... Dude, I see a giant neon red banner saying: "A L E R T  - It's a trap!!!"

In Andy's Dinosaur comment section someone said that pre-ordered the T-Rex figure in the defunct site in june and never get a answer or refund.

Ok. It's a little worse than I thought, the guy's asking if the cash he already paid in june  will be reversed to the kickstarter campaign. :P

Good thing you'll are discussing all of this here. That is very concerning. Hard pass for me then. Not like I don't have other things to spend money on this month.

Also another thing I noticed is that the stretch goals don't seem to have any particular funding goals? So what would be the point if backers have no idea?

Andy's answer under the video to this question:
Hey Andy, do you know why the Kickstarter is in $MX ?
I think this means mexican Dollars. I hope it has nothing to do with Galileo Hernandez..

QuoteI'm not exactly sure why it says that, but I know it's not associated with Galileo. I've been in good contact with Edel for months now and have even questioned them to make sure they have no association with him. It's definitely not him.

@Mauro "Raptor86"
I've also had some exchange with Andy and he told me about his experiences with Galileo. He says there is a huge difference between him and the Edel Collectibles - meaning Edel answers his messages, being nice in coversation and (to his knowledge) they refunded people who preordered the figures back some months ago, the complete opposite of Galileo and I'm lurking around this forum long enough to know what was going on.
Again, I hope all the backers will get what they were promised and not all talented mexican dinosaur lovers are Galileo  ;D

I'm not familiar with the previous controversies surrounding the potential creator; but this whole campaign seems off. Last I checked, there wasn't even a set of prices for the stretch goals. Honestly, I wouldn't back it anyway; Mattel's got me covered for Jurassic Park figures. Also, I feel like these a just smaller, not as well done, and more expensive versions of that Kaiyodo Tyrannosaurus from a couple years back.

Hey everyone! I've been in close contact with Edel for months now. I've questioned them 2 different times about whether they were affiliated with Galileo and they've continued to tell me there are numerous people involved with Edel, but none of those people are Galileo. I've had many conversations with Edel now, and I've had conversations with Galileo in the past. Both have VERY different styles of not only the way they type and converse with me, but also on response time and attitude. Galileo was fairly rude and took a very long time to respond. Edel are usually very quick, and extremely kind. I will say though that a lot of the sculpts look very similar to the work of Galileo.

The man from Edel that I speak to regularly genuinely seems as though he really just wants to create really cool articulated dinosaur figures. I feel like if it were Galileo and he was trying to scam people, then he wouldn't go to the lengths Edel has. They've been trying to correct different issues with their articulation and sculpts, completely behind the scenes. I don't know why they would be doing things like that if their goals were to just steal people's money. Also they were only going to hold the initial kickstarter for the 3 original figures and if that kickstarter worked they were going to then offer the other figures at a later date. That would be foolish if it were just a scam.

I've received 2 packages from them as well and neither included the name Galileo on them. I've asked about releasing their real names but they stated they want to keep business and personal lives separate so people don't start trying to add their personal accounts and stuff, and I can't really blame them.

I have no definitive proof that Galileo has nothing to do with it. But I REALLY feel quite comfortable with the entire thing and I don't think it's associated with Galileo. Really though it's your call. I'm just trying to help get a new company up and running in any way I can. If you need to contact me with any questions I'm happy to help anyone, any way I can.

A @Andysdinosaurreviews Thanks for clarifying. Perhaps I'll reconsider, although it does look the like the kickstarter is unfortunately off to a bad start. Still has quite a ways to go.

You're very welcome! I agree. The kickstarter isn't doing so well. I've reached out to other, larger YouTube channels to see if they'd be interested in helping to spread the word but i haven't had any responses.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for them that it picks up. They seem like really sweet people so id like to see them succeed.

Well I have no doubts that Galileo is behind all this... it's very obvious to be honest, each artist has it's own and unique style, so...
how ever just by quoting Kickstarter Q&A:

"How do backers know if a project will follow through?

If a creator has no demonstrable experience in doing something like their project or doesn't share key information, backers should take that into consideration. Does the creator include links to any websites that show work related to the project, or past projects? Does the creator appear in the video?"

That's exactly what Edel Toys is not doing... and don't forget the already mention most obvious reason: Why is it in MEXICO? if they first started with a Germany flag?
