Anyone else's Wal-Mart stores stop carrying Jurassic World products? Mine has and it's infuriating what with all these great new releases.

TWO WAL_MARTS

Have stoped Carrying Jurassic World Products in my region, and I agree.   it is Indeed Infuriating.

Honestly, I decided im done with the line after two years, because i predicted destribution issues like this. :(

terrorchicken

^yep mine have stopped carrying them completely as well. :(

suspsy

Haven't seen any JW product at any of the Walmarts up here in months now.

Mine just have minimal items. They are still prepping for the Spring reset it looks like, things are being moved around a lot. Jurassic might lose out to some other brands for a few months. We know Mattel is releasing more this year and next year is a film year so the line should be strong again.  I never buy much in stores anymore as far as collecting goes anyway, Amazon is my preference.

This may be the next big push for Mattel :
QuoteJurassic World: Camp Cretaceous — an all-new animated series set on Isla Nublar — will be debuting on Netflix later this year. Alongside its release, Jurassic collectors can expect a slew of merchandise including yet-to-be-revealed toys from Mattel.

I'd say we will see more at Toy Fair.

I've mostly given up on collecting the JW line for now, I've mainly just been picking out franchise significant figures like the brachiosaurus. We only got parts of Wave 1 of the original JW line, and fragments Wave 1 of the Dino Rivals line here along with a few extras. Nothing else arrived locally and I had to source almost everything from abroad.

Dunno what Mattel is doing with their distribution, but they are getting beat out by chinasaur knockoffs and "Animal-Zone" toys on store shelfs.

The toy isle in my store has been a bit of a disorganized mess so I've been suspecting a reset, but it's also been like that for two months. Generally I also just buy online but I'm picky about the JW stuff I buy so I like to see them first. Target still have a decent selection, thankfully.

At my stores, Christmas started the mess, then they did clearance of toys in January ( 5.00 Albertosaurus for the win!) after that mess toys went to the top shelf for the reset, they started moving things, getting in new items and finally trying to find room for top shelf items.  My one store had two ladies with 5 buggies of stuff trying find room for it all lol

Target isn't bad more of a drive for me, it's the only store I can think of still stocking them aside from Walgreens with a couple toys.

I usually order two of each figure then I can easily return anything spare.

Yes, Christmas really was the start of it. I'm happy to see Godzilla getting a lot of shelf space though.

stargatedalek

Oh? I've seen leaks but I didn't know the new Godzilla toys were already hitting shelves. I need that Skullcrawler! ;D

TRU has been clearing out JW here, but hasn't yet replaced them with anything. I blame those damn rip-cord things for not seeing more new figures around here, they ordered hundreds of them and they are still clogging up a quarter of the aisle.

Faelrin

My Walmart had gone through their reset but it had such a sliver of space. My Targets were better stocked. Only problem is I wish the new Savage Strikes were being carried. Don't know why they haven't been. Hopefully not much longer but at least I can always get stuff off Amazon or Entertainment Earth.

Exactly the case here. Which TRU executive thought it was a good idea to stock tons of these undesirable wastes of plastic rather than regular dinosaur figures is beyond me. Hundreds of Owen motorcycles, along with the millions of regular Owen variants are warming shelves here.

CityRaptor

Presumbly those are not the Owens that come with the Baby Blue figure. I see tons of the other two Owens, but not that one.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

We may get human figures to go with the show, REALLY hoping for that. Also I'm praying there will be less repaints. On the topic of Godzilla, my stores have been empty of that stuff. I hope Neca's doing Godzilla vs. Kong figures because Playmates is just showing to be basically Schleich.
Most (if not all) Rebor figures are mid

They're Bandai Godzilla toys at my store. Like this one. They're mostly of the older kaiju but they did have a Skull Island Kong and the 2019 Mothra.

So the talk is that this Camp Cretaceous show will be animated, right? I'm picturing Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

If that is the case, my one BIG hope here is that the human character and dinosaur models don't have big eyes and cartoony exaggerated features that are then translated directly into the toys.

That would really suck. I would not be interested in collecting something like that, but can see it happening. Please Mattel just make any action figures that accompany this show look perfectly ok and compatible next to the movie-based toys!

Theres a short clip of how the animation is going to look like on youtube with a raptor jumping at camera. At least for sure the dinosaurs wont be cartoony looking, the people on the other hand I have no idea.

ItsTwentyBelow

Thanks yankeetrex, hadn't noticed that clip. Looks great for a scaly JP raptor, and nice jungle rendering.

Looks like the animation in this show will have a bit more detail than Clone Wars or Rebels. Good stuff! Any dinosaur figures probably won't look any more cartoony than Mattel's dinos already do, ha.

Still hoping the human figures will display well alongside human characters from the film. Bring on some new vehicles too, I say!
