This definitely doesn't require such a knee-jerk, immature reaction, Takama. Do we know if this is a result of the current pandemic or not? No. If it is, Mattel could never have planned for this.

That being said, it sure is a disappointment. I really want that figure. Maybe it is just a temporary hold on some of their manufacturing, or maybe they'll release it again with different paint in the future. That could happen, since some figures have already been released in five different colors like the Dimorphodon. Even Mussaurus is getting a repaint.

Shucks though, I hope Scutosaurus is not next on the chopping block... :-\

avatar_Takama @Takama While I can certainly understand your frustration with this, since this was certainly one of my most anticipated figures (I had honestly been wanting a larger scale one since the mini one was revealed back in 2018), but if I had to guess the COVID-19 pandemic has probably caused issues (though if i had to guess it was probably also unfortunately short packed to begin with, and an intermittent wave of sorts like what happened with the Tapejara and Dimetrodon from last year), if not the usual distribution problems. I messaged Mattel over on instagram if they could consider repacking this one in the future (hopefully when this whole thing settles, if it ever does).

While I can only hope someone here that has access to these (which so far it seems to be in Australia, Mexico, and Canada lately) can help us both out with getting one, I also would not encourage anyone to go looking for this thing with this very dangerous pandemic going on, and putting either their lives or their family and/or friends lives at risk. A single toy (as much as I, and others as well, would want it) just isn't worth the risk.

On that note I am still wondering what is going to happen with the things revealed at NY Toy Fair. My friend in Germany informed me that the new Savage Strikes have pages on Smyths Toys now. While I definitely want to get my hands on the Scutosaurus, and the new Dilophosaurus (and the new Delta and Echo too), this year is certainly not a good year to be releasing these things (although all the same people's jobs and livelihoods are dependent on that they make sales, to stay in business and to continue releasing things folks might want).

Edit: I can't believe I forgot to mention this but my Savage Strike Charlie shipped from Entertainment Earth like a week or two ago. It should be here later this week I hope. It's already passed the expected shipping date (and no doubt this pandemic stuff has slowed everything down). At least it has tracking for me to keep an eye on it. That reminds me I need to check to see if the red Minmi I pre-ordered on Amazon, and when to expect that.

i would just expect delays.  Apparently the Chinese factories are back up and running now. i was a little concerned at no SDCC was hoping for another human exclusive

I figured I would post an update. Someone here generously picked up a Postosuchus for me. Could be a while before I have it in my hands as we both agreed it would be best to wait until things settle (hopefully) before its shipped.

I managed to go to Target for the first time in months after having access to a mask (see my post in the COVID-19 discussion for more details about how that was). I stopped by the Jurassic World section out of curiosity, and bought the Tarbosaurus there, and four mini figures (two for my nieces and two for me, one of which was the blue Postosuchus repaint I've been wanting since it was revealed, thankfully).

Turns out it was a new wave as there was a new green Baryonyx I hadn't seen before. Codes for all of these below in case anyone dares take their chances searching for any of these right now, or later.

The new repainted Baryonyx mini sort of matches the Dino Rivals Roarivore from last year:

Shonisaurus

Mattel's tarbosaurus is huge. Thank you for sharing the photos and I congratulate you on your new acquisitions.

Faelrin

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus Compared with the other earlier larger carnivores in the similar size range (such as the Carnotaurus and Suchomimus from 2018), it is a bit on the small side, comparable to the Battle Damage Albertosaurus released last year (and the repaint of it released this year in Brazil, and maybe a few other countries so far).

I never liked the Postosuchus due to its outdated stance, but I do want the Majungasaurus and the Scutosaurus for my son's collection. Hopefully those will turn up in stores eventually.

I forgot to mention this a few days ago but the Amber Collection Charlie is back up for pre-order on Big Bad Toy Store:

It unfortunately doesn't say when it is expected to arrive though.

avatar_suspsy @suspsy I don't believe there has been yet. I typically catch wind of this stuff either on reddit or instagram, and occasionally twitter. This is usually around the time the Wave 2 things start showing up (in California first, then elsewhere), but so far nothing as of yet. Additionally certain stock of previous products has been selling out lately and/or getting pretty hard to get stateside at least, such as the new Savage Strikes that are MIA here except a few random retailers (such as Meijer I believe, and Kohl's). The Sarcosuchus and Edmontosaurus have and also sell out fast the few times they've popped up on online retailers. Although speaking of the Sarcosuchus it is up for pre-order again on Amazon. Most of the new Attack Packs have sold out mostly everywhere online and locally (when I checked the other week ago).

Wouldn't be surprised if COVID-19 has delayed or is delaying releases (particularly the new ones seen at NY Toy Fair). Honestly I would be fine with waiting what with this thing going around anyways (all the same that could be up to be a year or more until a viable and safe vaccine can hopefully be produced, and then distributed, and I know businesses either can't or won't want to wait that long, let alone consumers in general too) and needing to do some much needed catching up on other brands like Safari Ltd and hopefully CollectA too, etc.

Also I did see that this online store is carrying some of the Snap Squad and Imaginext egg figures (including last year's Stegosaurus and Triceratops, and I think this year's Mosasaurus and Parasaurolophus) slightly over retail price in case anyone is interested, in addition to some of the 2020 figures and many of the older releases: https://www.thedinopark.com/store/c38/Jurassic_Park%2FWorld.html

Edit: Forgot to mention that the app has yet to receive an update either, at least from what I'm aware of. I think once that updates then once could probably expect the newer figures to be sighted afterwards too, although there has been the case last year where some of the figures were spotted in stores before it updated.

I wouldn't be surprised if some figures don't get released at all because of Covid-19.

We can hope for future repaints like it happen with the Legacy Dilophosaurus and the JP3 male raptor though.

Mattel should just Say something about the new releases, instead of leaveing all of us all wondering. Are they comeing out? or are they getting cancelled?.  I go to the store every Monday, to do my grocery shopping(Yes at the risk of getting sick, go ahead and judge me, i where a mask now), and i peak in the JW Section and i see the SAME EXACT SELECTION of Dino Rivals products, and Wave 1 Sound strikes. There were Abosulutly no Savage Strike from the Primal Attack Range. and never were from day one, back in Januarary  (Im still waiting on that darn Sauropelta Entertainment Earth).

Im sereiusly debateing about selling all of my Primal attack products, because this is rediculus,

suspsy

I think the reason Mattel hasn't made any statements about the future of the line is because they don't have any idea. They're probably in the same boat as so many other companies right now. I'm sure they'd love nothing more than to resume full scale production.

I personally think it's ridiculous to expect Mattel to prioritize the availability of toys during a world wide pandemic. Few people are shopping for luxury items right now. Why produce and send out product that won't sell? Assuming that Mattel even has the manpower to do so. Everything is on pause for the moment, I think we should accept it instead of get angry about it.

Yeah, anger is the last emotion anyone should be feeling right now with regard to the scarcity of toys. There are infinitely more important matters at stake, for us the consumers and for companies like Mattel. Me, I'd like to get the Majungasaurus and the Scutosaurus for my little boy's prehistoric collection, especially since I'd get to play with them as well, but he doesn't even know they exist and I can surely wait.

Yup, those are two that I want as well. I figure that I'll just get them when I get them at this point. I have enough catching up to do on already released toys anyhow.

To backtrack a little bit, I think the latest sound strike items to be hitting shelves has been the Edmonotsaurus at some Walmarts. I personally have not seen it as I cannot remember the last time I've been to Walmart, but people were posting photos of in stores Edmontos back in mid March. I'm not sure if there is still stock or if they are even restocking in light of current events.

Blade-of-the-Moon

let's not forget Camp Cretaceous is probably delayed which Mattel needed to get a sales boost, and their 2021 movie tie in line now be delayed because the film itself hasn't resumed production.
