Nice to see a mix of classics and new designs.'Really shows the diverse tastes within this group.

Uncle Rex

I would choose to keep my brown "pot belly" T.Rex, by Marx. I have owned him (maybe her?) for many years.

Bokisaurus

Hard Choice, but I will have to go with my Battat Diplodocus 😃

SBell

This would be like picking which child to save...in that it might depend on the day!

Probably one of my FaunaCasts figures. Possibly the giant Leedsichthys because it's easily the rarest. But maybe the Ptilodus because I know I'm the only one that has one.

Or, since it completes the Venn diagram of fish + super-rare-I'm-the-only-one-who-has-one, my FaunaCasts gar?

Let's hope this never happens.

GojiraGuy1954

Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Martwad

Very difficult choice, but I would have to pick the Paleozoo Anomalocaris.

Carnoking

I would just go down with the ship.  >:D

The T.rex avatar_Archinto @Archinto Sculpted for me, that i named after my uncle.

Shonisaurus

In my case, I love all my figures of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals equally even if they are simple toys, some of them so I would honestly not exclude any of them. It is like metaphorically saying which family member or friend you would stay with, I love my parents, uncles, grandparents, cousins and all the good people I have met in my life I honestly would not exclude any.

I love all my figures in my collection although obviously I like some figures much more than others because of their excellent quality.

Duna

I will save all my UKRD 1993 collection (which I finally got completed last week, 28 years after :D) but specially the three figures that were my first). The three of them are beautifully sculpted and painted. I can't believe almost 30 years have passed since. They are all as perfect as they were. My parents have always known that no matter what they said, I wanted to keep that figures forever.

I will also save my Oficial Amblin Jurassic Park Danone hard plastic dino collection. They are not as detailed as the UKRD, but they are getting quite rare as they were only given away in Spain. I have also completed the collection now (four figures left only). I got really fed up with eating so many yoghourts! :D

Not counting your holy grails and white whales (ie the figures you are still actively hunting)...

...if you were (hypothetically) asked to part with your entire (current) collection save for one figure, what figure would you choose to keep and why?

Mine's the Tyco Dino-Riders quetzalcoatlus. Despite being outdated, it is the first figure that sparked my pterosaur centric paleo collection.

'Would love to hear your stories.

I keep my schleich torosaurus because its my favorite figurine..

Hm, that is a though one. I would save either my cheaposaur stegosaurus (as it was part of my childhood and is very close to my heart) or my brachiosaurus from an unnamed brand (as it is another childhood figure and is in much better shape). Winter Wilson and my BOTM Raptor are close runner-ups though.

However all figures on my shelf are close to my heart and I would be devastated if I lost any amount of them.

Thread should be called "How to insure your collection"

I'd save my teddy bear and my SDCC Mezco Batman Beyond figure.

triceratops83

I've thought carefully about this. If the house was burning down, I'd tip the Ornithopod bookshelf over backwards so nothing would fall out, and drag it backwards out the door, saving everything. But if a madman had a gun to my head and told me to pick, I'd probably go the Invicta Lambeosaurus. Although I'd probably wait for the moment (when he is considering my choice) where I can turn the tables on the madman, push the bookcase on top of him, crushing him and saving my collection in its entirety. Problem solved.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

You plot twisted the twist. The only thing you have to worry about are the figures chipping or breaking!

This is only partially connected to this topic, but until recently ,iv noticed that the eofauna mammoths and collecta elasmotherium are somehow becoming elusive despite still recently being available.
At the end of last year the collecta elasmotherium was sold out on every major  online store i checked and only had 1 ebay listing at a very high cost....it and the eofauna mammoths are going to be elusive figures in the near future in my view being reviewed at very good scores and there simply being no comparisons in quality, apart from resin kits or the even more elusive and expensive statues..
There are no other paleoxodon or elasmotherium figures that im aware of apart from the  expensive and older resin kits....so i can see how they will become elusive in the near future...and both got high overall scores from the major review sites..

I guess that ultimately I am unsentimental about this, so it would probably a figure that is the most expensive to replace/buy again. Possibly my Invicta Lambeosaurus. But then again, I don't really know.
