I wish I did. Do knockoff companies even have names?

Can anyone help with this sauropod? No better pics, sorry, but thanks in advance :)

Oh, and while we are at it... I think Killekor's sauropd isn't identified yet, but I am still very curious.

Oh, and while we are at it... I think Killekor's sauropd isn't identified yet, but I am still very curious.

I'll help you out on this - what is seen in that photo are several "Chinasaur" knock-offs of established company models.  The sauropod in the photo is a miniature version of the Kaiyodo 1/35 Camarasaurus model, the Styracosaurus is an enlarged version of the Battat Styracosaurus, and the Stegosaurus seen at the top is a knock-off of the Battat 8-spiked Stegosaurus (with the spikes on the knock-off being reorientated to a vertical position on the tail.)

Bottom line - these are cheap toys made from designs stolen from legitimate companies.

Lanthanotus

Thanks Simon :),... I guessed it's a knockoff as it shows an unusual ammount of detail for a chinasaur, but could not identify any original.
Hmm, getting a pricey "new" Kaiyodo or breaking bad and buying a knockoff for once... need to ponder on this.

stargatedalek

If I may, I'd recommend buying the knock-off to see if you like the mold. This is an opportunity very few get when considering buying an expensive model.

Lanthanotus

Good point, thanks stargatedalek :)

Still no answer on that Diplodocus. It's a little reminiscent of both the K&M and Toyway versions, but neither is quite right.

Looking for identification on this little guy. I know there's a series of them out there. I remember vividly a version covered in spikes. This has been tormenting me since I was teen.

HotBrad

How on Earth do I upload the image?

I believe it's a sauropelta. Or maybe just a generic ankylosaur.

Some people around here call dinosaurs like that "screamers." It's usually a pretty difficult task to identify either the maker or the species, but they come in a staggering variety of colors and sizes and levels of spikiness.

I know, quite exquisite work. Perhaps even better than almighty Safari LTD!

How does one go about searching for them. I look up Ankylosaurus screamers and nothing comes up.

BlueKrono

I've only seen that term here on the DTF. Growing up I called them "gulpers" cuz being hollow they'd swallow my other toys, or appendages thereof. Sometimes you can find them by searching for "vintage" dinosaur lots. Most sellers wouldn't have any word to refer to them by other than that.
