Thanks for the heads-up avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres ! 'Will keep updating the first post as more information is released.

Here's the promotional text from the blog and Facebook post:
QuoteA colored sample of the diplodocus soft model currently under development has arrived from the factory, here we have it with the sauropod Brachiosaurus.

The color is a combination of calm blue and gray, finished in a different style from Brachiosaurus.

The long tail with the characteristic whip gives off a presence comparable to Brachiosaurus, and it has an attractive finish.

Shonisaurus

It is good news. Favorite's new diplodocus has attractive paint tones and looks like a pretty scientific figure. I'm glad Favorite makes beauties like this pretty sauropod sculpture.

SidB

Great! Hopefully this and those that follow are general releases and not museum exclusives.

Faelrin

I like it. I wonder what scale this is in. Too early to know?

Looking really good! Seems to be smaller than the Safari Ltd one, but I do like the pose on this one a lot, very graceful (and gives me slight WWD vibes :D)

The Brachiosaurus that you see in the picture is 1/80 scale.I have it as well as the older Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus, all 1/80.

out of topic but I'd like to call on the members who are fluent in Nihongo/Japanese to feel free to send me corrections if my translations are amiss.

Back to the dippy - I'll probably alter the paint app on the face, but yeah I like it a lot.

A new teaser from Favorite.

QuoteA project secrectly being developed that came like a surprise fastball.
The sea lizard.
Part of the premium edition series, the largest vinyl model in Favorite. Here is the prototype.
Look forward to it.

I think I just don't care for this sculptor's style.  I really don't care for these. The Mosasaur looks better than the Diplodocus, but those spikes on its back kinda kill it.

PhilSauria

Well I do like the sculptor's style and will be checking these out, however having said that not sure where I'll find them or how I'll afford them without a job.

Dino models not a priority in the present climate but I'd still like to get hold of that sauropod...

You ever want evidence shrinkwrapping is something people add to a piece rather than a natural part of the process of using references, this is a pretty good example. Big holes cut out of the back of the head "because this is how dinosaurs should look", despite it not being a dinosaur and no lizard having nonsensical structures like that.

What do you mean? I don't really care for the tracing of every skull feature, either, but lizards absolutely do have postorbital fenestrae, mosasaurs included.

I meant that none are exposed like that, the skull openings definitely exist and I phrased that quite poorly. :P

What I meant is that by looking at a live monitor you could never get the impression these openings should be visible. It's a completely fabricated feature not based on reality, and I think it's a decent insight into the mindset that would also lead someone to depict a dinosaur in this way.

Loon

I think that's just the sculptor's style taking precedent over accuracy. If this is the same sculptor as a lot of the soft models, this is very in line with their previous work. Overall, it's not an awful looking Mosasaurus, it's probably one of the better ones on the market (which isn't saying much). It's just the shrink-wrapped look is so off-putting.

ITdactyl

Here's old dome head!

QuotePachycephalosaurus Soft Model colored sample

Pachycephalosaurus was part of the old line of Soft Model but has not been renewed.
Finally it's here.

The whole skull is dome-shaped, and the parietal bones are thick and quite unique.
Although the theory that this head was used for head butting and defense was commonly mentioned, it seems that this is still disputed.
The paint application is a combination of vivid light blue and blue, which has not been used much at Favorite.

I hope you enjoy the charming appearance and color. Pachycephalosaurus may not be the main character, but many people also like dinosaurs that are indispensable for their collection in a supporting role.
Look forward to it. Scheduled to be released around summer.

Notice that Favorite acknowledges the favoritism in the dino toy market, but they're also aware of niche requests.

Loon

Not bad, probably the best so far. But that tail is so thin.

EmperorDinobot

I liked their earlier stuff better. Better quality, better painjob, better sculpts.

SidB

avatar_EmperorDinobot @EmperorDinobot , not sure if you're referring to the old 2004 line, but I find that selection superior in many ways to the later releases (excluding the museum exclusives). All have fine production values, but the shrink wrapping or heroin chique look wasn't a problem then. The animals were nicely fleshed out. I do like all the Favorites and have all of the PVC figures, but wow - they are really conservative!

EmperorDinobot

Yeah the 2004 line was better. I own some of the newer ones and the shrink wrapping is a bit too much.
