If that's any indication of what the final product is going to look like, then I'm absolutely sold.  :o
Going to replace the CollectA Borealopelta from my collection.

Though given PNSO's history of having MUCH better painted promo pics compared to the actual in-hand products (looking at you Dakosaurus  ::)), it'll certainly be a shame to see all this intricate paint detail lost to mass factory paintjobs.

SidB

Stunning piece, but I'll want to discover the scale before getting too excited.

ceratopsian

Certainly looks beautiful. But I guess we'll need some patience before we see the final product!

Shonisaurus

Amazing! It looks spectacular! That borealopelta has to be mine. She's a super cool figure. Gorgeous. This PNSO borealopelta far surpasses its collecta counterpart and I point out that the Collecta borealopelta is a small "work of art". Thank you PNSO !!!!

Loon

As nice as this looks, I don't think it'll be replacing my CollectA. I think this is a large figure, given the complexity of the paint job and those pics from a month or so ago.

PhilSauria

Large figure, by PNSO - bring it on!

Duna

If that Borealopelta is like the ankylosaurus (in size and price) I would buy it for sure. It looks superb.

I've already ordered it on Amazon and it's been shipped yesterday, so I can't wait to see it in person. Based on the pictures, I like the snout being darker than shown in the promo pictures, and the pose is my favourite among all the currently produced Microraptor figures.

I hope the Borealopelta is in the mid-size range, the superb work on the Ankylosaurus proves it can be done.

suspsy

That Borealopelta looks like a bona fide masterpiece, but I'm pretty sure it's way too big and way too expensive to be added to my collection.

I really wish PNSO would reveal a new series of miniatures. :-\

That is a great looking Microraptor, just a shame it's not fully accurate. It's SO close that the small things bother me (the crest was been debunked years ago, lack of alula, etc.)

avatar_suspsy @suspsy I really hope they do some new mini's as well. Lots of Chinese and Asian species in general (I mean with their previous minis they filled in a niche that was largely ignored previously, in regards to many of the feathered dinosaur species from there) I would love to seem them do. Hopefully next year they will release more.

Gonna have to pick up that Microraptor as well. The iridescence has been nailed from the looks of it.

The borealopelta is very beautiful but it is far in size and in price far from my expectations. I would like a large borealopelta but not too large either. It is still a shame for me not to be able to collect that wonderful figure, especially because of its size.

My PNSO microraptor is on its way to my place. I hope to have it in the next 15 or 20 days after the purchase. It was just sent to me today along with W-Dragon's giganotosaurus.

Flaffy

Glad to see the intricate paint detail preserved on the mass produced samples  :o
CollectA's Microraptor got some competition in the paint department now.

But looking at it now, I really dislike the exposed teeth, along with that pretty awkward looking mohawk.

Can you tell me more about the crest and the alula? Is there any figure that has the latter? I thought the only "inaccuracy" was the exposed teeth...

Ironically the Carnegie figure has an alula, but is now inaccurate in other ways. Still the only one to be fully accurate "for its time".

Sarapaurolophus

It's a striking piece, imo. The size and pose really gives it a certain charme and I am curious what other smaller figures will receive a more luxe version like this one.
However, there is something that looks off to me and it's not the inaccuracies because the small one has those and I still love it. I think it's the face. It looks derpy somehow. The eyes look dead and the paint on the teeth is so prominent, it makes them look larger and thicker than they should have been.

Hard to judge just looking at one photo but so far I think I can pass. The small one matches my other raptors better, too.

Shonisaurus

By the way. Is that support base that the microraptor has included in the box or does it have to be purchased?

ceratopsian

Pretty sure it has to be purchased, avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus.

avatar_ceratopsian @ceratopsian Thanks for the info. It seemed strange to me that PNSO sold such a support for the microraptor.

I'm a sucker for PNSO and a sucker for iridescence too.  But I'm going to wait for it to appear with Everything Dinosaur, as I'm sure it will eventually, rather than order it from Asia.

I'm honestly very interested in that bigger size iridescent microraptor from PNSO. It looks majestic. The red plume on the head has been spectacularly embroidered. In my case, PNSO has buyer insurance.

That is a very good idea to wait until it is at Everything Dinosaur, the Microraptor is currently on the water and it wil be in stock at Everything Dinosaur in a few weeks.
