Speaking of Corythosaurus...

This poster is similar to the one that showed the first look to the Lambeosaurus: does it mean it will be the next figure?

I hope this Corythosaurus is a new figure from PNSO.  Even though I find the animal boring, this model looks great and I really like its colouration - it looks much better than the Lambeosaurus's!  It might even make me like Corythosaurus...

I think it might also be to protect the sculptors.
After all people in the palaeontology enthusiast community can be extremely harsh and it could lead to harassment of the artist if the product isn't fitting to ridiculously high standards.
For example we still have no idea who the sculptor is who made Safari's Diplodocus, Malawisaurus and Amargasaurus and it might be for the better as especially younger artists can't deal with hordes of angry nerds as well as more experienced ones would.
The American president Harry Truman once said that,"If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen," referring to the political scene, which is most definitely a blood sport. I think that anyone who enters the public arena in any capacity has to expect some rough handling. Two of the fine gentlemen who have graced the DTF with their time, attention and comments (Watson and Lorusso) have overwhelmingly received respect and appreciation - yet at times have had their work on the receiving end of critical, injudicious or even rude comments. It's inescapable. I call it a type of spiritual formation and if received appropriately, it can paradoxically  build up, rather than tear down. Negativity, even if unfair, can build patience if handled properly. But it's not easy, for sure.

Truly, it is concerning artists, and certainly there is only a relatively small area of overlap with the political sphere, but one very critical common aspect is the public element. Certainly many creative people live and work almost exclusively in a rather private world and never have to face the glare of publicity with it's opportunities, temptations and other hazards. Others do and must interface with it. They have to deal with these elements, for better or for worse. There are a lot of wounded folk out there who intentionally or inadvertently spread their pain. The public artist will meet these too. We've had a few on the forum. Unavoidable, really.

No. Nobody has to put up with rudeness merely for entering the public eye. No one has to expect hate merely for doing what they like. While resistance can indeed be motivating for certain personality types, it usually does the exact opposite and eventually most people will stop pursuing the thing they liked. That´s not a good thing.

Yeah, I find the idea of taking abuse as a form of character building to be, honestly, one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Sounds like the makings of a psychopath.

#28 has been revealed! It's Caroline The Corythosaurus! She's a bit more expensive at $38.99.

Seems it's only on Amazon rn:

Looking greengood! I'm loving the diversity of hadrosaur body plans from PNSO.

avatar_Mattyonyx @Mattyonyx avatar_Sim @Sim I think you two were on to something.

I did see this just a tad bit earlier thanks to D @Dino Scream3232 catching wind of it, and sharing it on instagram, but glad to see those full body pics and the link shared here as well. Interesting to note that it looks like they'll be getting the other new ones, but maybe the old ones back in stock too?

I am really glad to see that this is being released as well. Absolutely beautiful. While in the case of Lambeosaurus, I've been wanting and waiting to see one with a green base body color for some time now, I haven't had anything in mind for Corythosaurus on the other hand, which I've also wanted and waited a long time for as well, but I am loving what I am seeing here. While I did get a glimpse at the pic on the FB post shared earlier, particularly at that gloriously colorful crest, but it is nice to see the pattern used on the rest of the body. I like the spots and stripes used on it here, and it is also different from its counterpart also being released.

I cannot be more satisfied they have gone ahead and given us not one, but two wonderful hadrosaurid figures. I cannot wait to get my hands on the both of these new figures by them, and well I'm also eager to see these being added to the collections of the folks here too. It's been such a long time since a new Corythosaurus figure has been released, although the Carnegie one is still decent, for what it is worth. So far a great year for ornithopods, and hadrosaurids in particular, come to think of it, with not only PNSO having some releases, but also Safari Ltd, CollectA, and even Mattel. Edit: I forgot that Favorite, Mojo, and Takara Tomy also released some ornithopods as well, give or take Papo with their repainted Parasaurolophus, but a quick look at the DinoToyCollector site set me straight.

Judging by the dimensions in mm on the pics it looks to be slightly bigger then the Lambeosaurus. 270 mm, instead of the Lamebosaurus 246mm which would certainly explain the increase in price for this one as well. Also is it just me or does this look to have the "hooves", like the Edmontosaurus specimen that was revealed earlier this year (or late last year)? I wonder if that is the case for the Lambeosaurus as well, but it has been hard for me to make out based on the available pics.

At this rate I wonder if it will only be a matter of time before they do an Olorotitan, Tsintaosaurus, and the Ouranosaurus too in this scale, give or take, as their mini figures of those are all quite beautiful. I would of course love to see minis of the new Lambeosaurus and this Corythosaurus as well.

Am I now also one of those wounded people spreading pain?
Is that what you are implying here?
Oftentimes artists need to be exposed to the public or otherwise they won't attract potential customers but when someone managed to find stable income without having to do so there is no reason to become a public person if they don't want to.
I would have taken the chance if I could have.
But now I'm just spreading my pain here I guess after I've been wounded.
It's merely a set of general statements that I am offering - nothing whatsoever directed at yourself in any way. It's true that there is an implication that might be construed here, but it absolutely is not intended to be aimed in your direction since you've said nothing to merit that. No harm or criticism meant to be implied regarding you in any way.

Right! This does seem unprecedented to me, though my memory doesn't stretch far enough back with sufficient accuracy to recollect if any other company has issued three hadrosaurs in one calendar year. I remember that Schleich had an Edmontosaurus, a Corythosaurus and a Parasaurolophus many years back (Replicasaurs), but I'm thinking that they weren't necessarily released during the same year.

Flaffy

Now that the initial excitement has worn off, I have to ask:
Why are their heads so big? The Corythosaurus looks like a bobblehead figure. ???

GAT skeletal by comparison:

Jose S.M.

I don't see the lambeosaurus head being too big but the Corythosaurus does looks weirdly proportionated.

Bokisaurus

Wow, awesome new addition! finally, about time! About to order it! Now I'm really excited to see what the others are! :D

By the way, it is a well modeled, detailed, well painted figure etc. but I have a question, was the corythosaurus not smaller than the lambeosaurus? Shouldn't it be smaller than the lambeosaurus? Anyway, I'm very happy that they made that corythosaurus, perhaps the final one for me. On the other hand, I would like PNSO to make more hadrosaurid figures in standard size. I hope that in the future (I don't know when it will be) they will make a tsintaosaurus as they mentioned and with time they will make a saurolophus, velafrons and olorotitan. Especially a saurolophus and a prosaurolophus these two figures are very little treated in the toy market, although fortunately there is a very nice saurolophus from Favorite.

Loon

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy I don't think the Lambeosaurus head is oversized, but the Corythosaurus is definitely a little off. I'll really have to wait and see with this one, especially considering some of the prices it's going for.

I mean, seriously, almost $50? It's only about an inch longer than the Lambeosaurus.

On Amazon the price is lower than Aliexpress (that's incredible  :o): USD 38,99 + shipping (0,90)..  ::)

That's still quite a bit more than any of the others.

Shonisaurus

By the way the corythosaurus is almost perfect, I have ordered it on Amazon but from my humble point of view it has a slightly large head, it seems as if it suffers from macrocephaly or negative allometry in adulthood. I comment on this with all the respect and love that all the works of PNSO and the great sculptor Zhao Chuang and his great and outstanding team deserve.
