Is veghead.com reliable? Can anyone help?

I wanted to order a couple reptile toys in this website ( https://www.veghead.com/catalog/index.php ) buy so far I haven't had much luck. The owner didn't respond my emails, so I contacted him via eBay.

The seller doesn't seem to be willing to accept payment from foreign buyers and refuses selling me a couple toys. The items would be sent to a US address, so I don't see the harm in it. I guess he is too afraid of being scammed, like if I were to receive the goods and then ask for a refund or something. He only ships to PayPal verified addresses, but since my PayPal account is a Brazilian account, I can't verify that address there.

I can't find the items I want elsewhere, otherwise I'd have bought it already, avoiding the awful feelings I get when these things happen (anxiety and stuff).

If anyone know anywhere I can order the AAA Parson's Chameleon and the Safari Ltd Soft Shelled Turtle, other than this site, let me know.

I found the turtle on this site, though I know absolutely nothing about them:

I have that chameleon actually, I wasn't planning on selling it but it's also not my favorite figure by any means and takes up a good deal of space. I customized the chameleon slightly (just painted the tongue IIRC, can get pictures). I definitely can't beat $18 US for it though.

If anyone does know if this Veghead site is reliable and/or is interested in helping people out as a go between, I'm also interested in a number of figures from this site, especially the Safari tokay and most of the AAA freshwater turtles.

Thanks for the help, but this website is also out of stock for the turtle. If the order from Veghead.com doesn't work out, I'd probably be willing to buy the Chameleon from you, depending on the price. Any pictures you can send me of it would help a lot.

Greg, the owner of Veghead.com has contacted me earlier this evening. He said the contact page for his site wasn't working properly so he did not receive my e-mails. He quickly fixed it, and then we began a negotiation. He says he's in his 70's and because of that he prefers to keep things simple, thus he stopped taking payment from abroad.

But, he was polite and seemed to be willing to help. He  suggests I used XOOM, a paypal subsidiary to pay for the items, so he could collect the money at Walmart. Not a huge problem, but I would end up having to pay a 7 dollar fee just to send in the money. And Greg would probably take a quite a few days to collect it in person at Walmart. That is not ideal and I would consider this option a last resort.

I explained to him that receiving money via PayPal (which he already uses) would be quite simple and effective. He provides the total amount and paypal ID and I send in the money, in US dollars. I also provided the shipping address (continental US) where he should ship the item. So far no luck. He didn't reply back yet, probably stopped working for the day (I hope). Let's wait and see if tomorrow I get an answer and close the deal.

On the other hand, I can't shake the impression he doesn't trust me. It's like he prefers getting the cash in person before shipping, to be sure I'm not scamming him and won't open a PayPal claim to ask for refund while the money is in his account, after I receive the items. This is quite upsetting, since I feel as a target of some sort of prejudice, mistrust.  Not a good feeling at all :(  I suppose there's nothing I can do to change his mind. I will probably either have to agree and use XOOM or not buy the toys :/

Update: Yesterday I tried contact again with the store owner, by e-mail, but got no reply. It seems he's decided to ignore me and all my arguments.

I could have bought from him through that XOOM app, but that would mean I had no guarantees of getting my money back if things went sideways.

If the site had good feedback, people knew about it and could vouch for them as a reliable store, I would buy for sure. But since nobody seems to know anything about them, I can't take that chance.

Too bad for both of us. I could have become a regular customer, since they have lots of cool reptiles there. But since they don't want to trust their customers, how could a customer trust them?

I'll give up on Veghead.com and look for the reptiles elsewhere. If anyone finds these or have these for sale, let me know and we can make a deal.
