avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Thanks for your kind words. I am fine, in fact at 15:00 in the afternoon Spanish time I am going to do the PCR tests and the doctor has told me that if I still do not have the coronavirus I am an asymptomatic case, so I will have to return to work next days, yes or yes.

Hopeful news circulates in the newspapers. I have read the newspapers and it is assured that Pfizer claims that it has a 90% effective vaccine, so I believe that this nightmare will soon end. We have to be optimistic. I understand that the vaccine is still administered before the end of the year from what I read in the newspapers. In fact the stock markets in Europe and America have risen a lot due to this hopeful news.

It is indeed good news. But most people will have to wait much longer than the end of this year to be vaccinated. It will be a long process and there will be priorities for early vaccination, I am sure, such as the very elderly, those in care homes, and health workers.  But it is definitely good news.

I hope that the promising news about vaccines will make people more tolerant of public safety measures in the interim, like mask requirements and restrictions on business occupancy.

The doctor gave me the results of the PCR by phone, the result is negative, I do not have coronavirus. However, I will have to stay in confinement until Monday, the day I return to work. Honestly, a very strict doctor has touched me and she has told me even if I have negative PCR, I have to be in confinement, isolated (you cannot be more isolated than me) until Monday. I suppose it will be a good excuse to prepare during that time for the oppositions and see if the PNSO pachyrhinosaurus reaches me and above all see the new releases of novelties that Collecta has planned this week.

I guess the confinement is going to be sweet, in my case.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus Happy to hear your result is negative, and that the confinement won't be too taxing on you.

Our government is trying hard to make people realise they mustn't relax their guard - but I'm not sure how much headway they will make.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Thank you very much for your kind words. Honestly, I am used to worse things than this throughout my life, such as the confinement in March with my father already ill. Honestly, what I am going through now is a caress of life compared to previous situations.

avatar_ceratopsian @ceratopsian In my case, I have well-founded hopes that the global coronavirus vaccine is a matter of days or at most a month. The downside will be the economic consequences and the social and political conflicts that will shake the world after the pandemic. In fact, there are already conflicts such as demonstrations, military confrontations, and so on. Let us pray that this does not get worse. Thanks also to you for your kind words.

At the start of last week, there were enough cases in my year group at school that everyone in it was sent home for the week. Most of them are back now, however I'm off for at least another two weeks (including this one) due to being due for a COVID-19 test so I can have a second go at surgery (see the health problems thread for more info) next week.

All this, in the year that I have final exams; if this is reality, then I'm looking forward to the dreams I have when I'm under anaesthesia for about 10 hours next week.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus I am relieved to hear that you do not have it. I am hoping the remaining quarantine time goes smooth for you, such as enjoying the new reveals, etc.

Edit: avatar_Ravonium @Ravonium I really hope things go well for you as well, including the surgery.

avatar_Ravonium @Ravonium Best wishes for your surgery and we hope that everything is resolved satisfactorily.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Thank you for your kind words, sincerely it is going to be a sweet confinement knowing the news of Collecta at home quietly.

I have some bad news. Both my sister and father were tested for Covid tonight and both of their results came back positive. I have not yet gotten myself tested, but now I should. Safe to say everyone in the house has been exposed and has it now, including the animals(?) as well. Would probably explain my unusual "cold" symptoms a few days ago.

My parents are my main concern, who both are still showing symptoms, and both have serious underlying health issues. My mother has an autoimmune disorder and my father has congestive heart failure. They will need to take it extra easy and be vigilant.

It also means we will be needing to quarantine for the next two weeks minimum, if not more. I will keep everyone posted.

Now I have been taking my vitamin D supplement daily and have been staying on top of the vitamin C as well and also staying hydrated as best I can. At least we stocked up on stuff in the meantime.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin My best wishes to you and your parents. Hopefully your sister and your father will overcome the coronavirus. Take care of your parents, because parents are a treasure and a gift from Heaven, I asked God for you.

I hope everyone in your household recovers quickly and fully, avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin.

For my part, I'm staying home for the holiday this week. Really dismayed by the number of people traveling.

Had a week of holiday which I used to build a X-mas gift for my son (rebuild a 80`s style Castle Grayskull from foam board)
and interior working the attic. Came back to work today to find myself in quarantine now. One of the children cared for in our
institution was tested positive (without symptoms) and therefor the whole business in closed for a week now. Well, I am
somewhat grounded now, which is a bit annoying as I am not even allowed to go buy what I need to continue, but yeah, I
guess that`s a luxury problem.

To all others out there, stay (or get) healthy and make the best of it.

So far me and my family have remained COVID free. That said, my wife works in a care facility that has been battling a COVID outbreak for over a month now. Few employees have gotten it, and they're certainly taking precautions, but there are the occasional moments of panic. Mostly I've just resigned to it, because what else can you do?

Everyone here that's effected by this, Faelrin in particular, I wish you the best. You're in my thoughts.
