Initial funding goal is $185,000 (please scroll down for information about stretch goals). Funded now!

Everything Dinosaur will be handling shipping for UK and EU orders.

Here is a FAQ for common questions:

  • How do I pledge and back a kickstarter?
See here: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005066393-How-do-I-pledge-

  • When do I need to pay?
Only when the kickstarter ends, and has reached its funding goal in time. So if the campaign is 30 days long, and has been funded successfully, cards will be charged at the end of that 30 day period. Not when you initially pledge. You will also be able to withdraw/cancel your pledge if needed, prior to the campaign ending. Or see here: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005126094-When-is-my-card-charged-

  • What forms of payment can I use/are accepted?
See here: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005066433-What-forms-of-payment-can-I-use-to-make-a-pledge-
Additionally PayPal is not supported at this time: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005066473-Can-I-pledge-with-PayPal-

  • How do I change my pledge reward or my pledge total amount, or add add-on's?
See here: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005126814-How-can-I-change-my-pledge-amount-or-reward-selection-

Go to manage your pledge, then select change your pledge. From there you can just keep your pledge the same, and re-select it. After that should be a page that shows up after selecting your pledge with add-ons. You just select the ones you want and it will increase your pledge automatically. In the past one had to manually add to your pledge total before kickstarter implemented this system.

  • How do I pledge for stretch goal figures (such as juvenile T. rex, Guanlong, Yutyrannus, etc)?
Select the (Pledge US$ 5 or more) Base Shipping for Add-Ons Only (US), or (Pledge $10 or more Base) Shipping for Add-Ons Only (INT) tier, depending where your shipping destination is. Then see the above guide for how to add on add-ons.

  • I missed the kickstarter campaign, how can I pledge or pre-order?
Best to check out the pre-order store that should be up after the campaign ends. Please see the Beasts of the Mesozoic Ceratopsian Series campaign, which currently has a pre-order store up, to get an idea of how it works (the big blue button): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/creativebeast/beasts-of-the-mesozoic-ceratopsian-series-action-figures/description
Once the campaign is ended, I will have a direct link to the pre-order store added here.

The sub-adult Triceratops from the Ceratopsian series should scale well with the intended 1/35 scale T. rex. Additionally the 1/35 scale may be used for a line of sauropods eventually, if not other large species. From the discussion in the comments here:

Well, well, well.

First up, that 1/35 Tyrannosaurus rex has me very intrigued indeed! I had previously resolved to get the 1/18 (because I assumed it was going to be the only version), but a 40 cm long T. rex would definitely feel better on my wallet and possibly even fit on the shelf with all my other tyrant lizards. I was thinking I'd have to keep the 1/18 scale one on my desk. And say, how big is the subadult Triceratops again?

Nice to see so many tyrannosauroids made it onto the list. I thought it was going to be mostly tyrannosaurids. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Dryptosaurus is like.

And I'm a bit disappointed that Zhuchengtyrannus and Thanatotheristes didn't make the cut, but seeing as how I most likely wouldn't have bought them anyway, I really don't have any reason to complain!

Very exciting stuff! I look forward to 2021!

Oh, and avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, Gorgosaurus is also from the Judith River Formation. A nearly completely specimen was discovered close by to Zuul.

A little sad Nanuqsaurus didn't make it in. But, other than that, I'm liking the choices here. I got a little fearful that Yutyrannus wouldn't make the cut, but, I guess these days that would be like not including Gorgosaurus or Albertosaurus.

Gotta say, the 8" body figures have me the most interesting, as that's the size of figure I usually prefer and those are some species I have always wanted good figures of. Eotyrannus, Guanlong, and Proceratosaurus will be must gets for me.

If that Tyrannosaurus resembles R.J. Palmer's latest reconstruction in way, shape, or form, I will love it more than other figure I own. Though, I really don't know where I'd put that massive 27" version.

Other than the size, is the smaller Triceratops really that different from the 1/18 scale one? I just want to know if I could substitute as a 1/35 scale adult to go with the smaller Tyrannosaurus.

I personally feel that Gorgo and Alberto are too similar to be worth doing both dinosaurs. It would be like doing both Qianzhousaurus and Alioramus. Moreover, quite a few palaeontologists lump the 2 genuses.

The small trike was basically based off an adult specimen anyways. (which GSP considered to be a subadult cus of "Toroceratops")
It should comfortably scale with the 1/35 Tyrannosaurus.

I'm just really curious (given that Yutyrannus is in the list) where David will draw the line between Fully feathered and partially/totally unfeathered.

If this list pushes through, I'll probably chase the Yutyrannus and an Albertosaurus to pair with the Pachyrhinosaurus.

I have but one complaint: Alioramus, or the lack thereof. That's it. Otherwise I'm beyond excited.

I'm interested to see how Alectrosaurus will be made, considering it's only known from leg bones.

Same genera or not, Albertosaurus and Gorgosaurus have more anatomical differences between them than an African lion and a tiger. They'll also undoubtedly have drastically different colour schemes.

Mah baby Dilong got in! ;D

I'm going to have to wait pending their individual designs, but Dilong and Guanlong are both probably going on my list.

No Appalachiosaurus? Highly disappointed.

I feel ya bud.  Was really hoping someone would finally make one.

I guess I'm only really interested in these :

1/18th  Qianzhousaurus sinensis (Alioramus remotus?)
1/18th  juvenile T-Rex (Nanotyrannus?) BODY 2.5- 14"
1/18th  Yutyrannus huali
1/18th  Dryptosaurus aquilunguis

And that list may shrink depending on final sculpt/paint.

No Appalachiosaurus?

Flaffy

Look, I like Tyrannosaurus as much as the next guy, but do we really need the juvenile rex? Couldn't the slot be opened to something more interesting, like Appalachiosaurus or Nanuqsaurus?

Quite surprised Zhuchengtyrannus didn't make the cut, especially since Sinoceratops is already part of the BotM family, but understandable given Tarbosaurus's inclusion. Still would've liked to acquire a Zhucheng to terrorise my Sino though.

Overall, a pretty good lineup. ;D
Really glad to see so many tyrannosauroids in the series, as I was previously concerned that the line would be tyrannosaurid focused.
Hoping to see some of the basal ceratopsians make a return though, was really disappointed when David cut out all but 3 of them.

suspsy

Aside from Alioramus, all the tyrannosaurids that didn't make the cut—Dynamoterror, Nanuqsaurus, Thanatotheristes, and Zhuchengtyrannus—are only known from fragments. Perhaps that had something to do with David's decision not to include them. Same as how he didn't include certain ceratopsians like Coahuilaceratops, Mercuriceratops, and Titanoceratops.

And for the people who still believe that Nanotyrannus is a valid genus, the juvenile T. rex will probably be welcome.

Also, I wonder if there are plans to do dioramas with hatchlings just like the raptors.

He wants to make a Tyrannosaurus in 1/35 scale?! :o

Ok, David Silva, you got my attention.

Shonisaurus

The ones that interest me the most in this collection are the albertosaurus, gorgosaurus, daspletosaurus, tarbosaurus and logically the tyrannosaurus rex. They are the best dinosaur species preserved in the paleontological record.

Ok, David Silva, you got my attention.

Yeah, David's certainly a smart cookie. Wouldn't surprise me much if the 1/35 scale version easily outsells the 1/18 version. Like I said earlier, I'm probably gonna go with that one due to money and space.

This new scale might also suggest that the fourth series of BotM will be sauropods. Doing them at 1/18 scale would be totally insane and probably require people to display their figures on floors rather than shelves, but doing the biggest ones at 1/35 scale would be more likely to work. A 1/35 Brachiosaurus would pretty much be like the Mattel Legacy version if I'm not mistaken.

You are mistaken, Mattel scale is way over 1/35 and the Brachiosaurus, while I can't measure it right now, is definitely over that. A 1/35 Brachiosaurus would be larger than the likes of Papo Brachiosaurus for example, but nowhere as huge as the Mattel Brachiosaurus.

I'm very pleased to be mistaken then. Bigger than the Papo but smaller than the Mattel is fine by me! Probably fine by a lot of folk. :))

Getting back to the tyrannosaurs, here's a question I've posed in the past, but will ask again now that we've got an official thread going: what should be the inspiration for the colour schemes this time?

And for the people who still believe that Nanotyrannus is a valid genus, the juvenile T. rex will probably be welcome.
I guess there's that. I really do hope David doesn't call the juvenile Tyrannosaurus "Nanotyrannus".

Yeah, David's certainly a smart cookie. Wouldn't surprise me much if the 1/35 scale version easily outsells the 1/18 version. Like I said earlier, I'm probably gonna go with that one due to money and space.
I'm going for the 1/35 version as well. A 1/18 scale, 27" Tyrannosaurus is undoubtedly cool, but unfortunately impractical due to space concerns.

For a sauropod series, I wonder if David is going to include basal sauropodomorphs into the line up, or if he's just going to do members of Eusauropoda.
And I also wonder what scale he's going for. Large sauropods are very likely going to be 1/35, but what scale are the smaller sauropods going to be in? Some of the smaller ones could definitely work in 1/18, but then that would basically split the series in 2.

He better use some red-ish tones for the 1/35 Tyrannosaurus
