New sculpt reveal. The wip Alectrosaurus by sculpter Jake Baardse. It will also share parts with the juvenile Tyrannosaurus, which is the next sculpt reveal.

Again the direction of the jugal horn is incorrect, it should be pointed downwards.

The head of the alectrosaurus (its prototype in development) looks great, it is a very realistic and super detailed sculpture I can not wait to see said figure finished and painted. Magnificent specimen. It's good that Beasts of the Mesozoic made an alectrosaurus, a very little-treated tyrannosauroid species on the market.

Images of the Lythronax sculpt are now on Facebook.

Sorry I was a bit late to getting to sharing this (I'll be updating the op in a sec). Here's the pic though:

It will be sharing parts with the Bistahieversor.

Here's also a look at the inner workings of it:

It is a very well elaborated prototype in super detailed independent pieces. I can't wait to see the fully finished prototype. They will make a very good combination with the series of ceraptósidos from the same brand.

Flaffy

I wonder if the details for the Lythronax is complete or not.
It's a lot more wrinkly, and significantly less scaly than all the other sculpts.

David has revealed that he's working on the Dilong artwork now. It's based on the golden pheasant.

Intriguing. Definitely not my first choice for a colour scheme, as I'm concerned on whether or not it'll turn out too flashy/flamboyant.
But we'll see when this is finished.

Shonisaurus

Unfortunately almost 80 percent we will never know what the color of dinosaurs and other animals of the past was like in general terms, so regardless of those colors the dilong will give a very striking image of that tyrannosaur, I sincerely understand that in real life It wouldn't be like that, but to imagine ... it costs nothing. In any case, it is part of the genius of the Beasts of the Mesozoic brand and its philosophy and artistic license, as all dinosaur brands and all paleoartists in the world have.

I was hoping to see this used for Dilong or Proceratosaurus. Now since it is confirmed Dilong is having this color scheme, that makes me curious what the Proceratosaurus will have now. Either way I am definitely eager to see this one finished.

Edit: On one hand, I wish this one would be offered in 1/18th scale too as it was a contemporary to Yutyrannus, or at the very least from the same formation. On the other hand the 1/6 scale Zhenyuanlong (which I'm still behind on picking up) would make a nice companion to this for the same reasons.

Following up on a recent post, here's the first look at the printed head and neck for the Beasts of the Mesozoic Lythronax action figure! Sculpted by Jake Baardse, sectioned and printed by Raul Ramos.

I'm loving this look. Of course, I've already seen complaining about the lips covering the teeth. But I find it really compelling.

Love the subtle detailing on the Lythronax. His little vampire fangs are rather amusing as well  :))
Really excited to see this one painted up!

The artwork for Dilong is up on Facebook. Very bright colours. I think it will be the most divisive figure as a result. Don't mind it myself.

In the Lythronax sculpt the direction of the jugal horn is still not downwards, even after Dr. Carr's suggestion. I hope at least the T.rex final model should bear a downward placing jugal horn.

Not feeling it personally. I feel like the bold contrasts and "striped" appearance of the Golden Pheasant were lost at some point during drawing.
Feels very pastel-y, like crayons. Hopefully it'll look better on the figure, was hoping to acquire a proper Dilong.

The colours look very washed-out. The thin neck and tail fan also make it look more "raptory" than I'd prefer. Was really looking forwards to this one and I'll have to see how it turns out on the full size figure, but disappointed for now.

I think using a yellow golden pheasant would have looked much better, they have stronger contrast which makes the patterns more noticeable and they already have white underside anyway so no need to fudge the colours to make the counter-shading look more natural.
