Dino-mite!

Count me in the dragons are a must-have camp. Still stings to have missed the McFarlane line and I need a do-over. The bright colors will be a great fit for those.

It was this and the Tyrannosaur series that made my decision to skip most of the Ceratopsians. That's likely to be a small regret later but it's for the greater good.

I really like this daspletosaurus project, its conservative colors and its lack of feathers make this prototype a very beautiful figure from the point of view and at the same time scientific. I can't wait to see the finished figure.

Newest concept art, Daspletosaurus! I love it, reminds me of a sunset.

That's going to contrast very nicely with Gorgosaurus and make for some interesting photoshoots with contemporary ceratopsians as well, down the road.

I'm surprised that if the Guanlong is supposed to have its colors based off the cassowary that they wouldn't make the crest bony-colored like that.

While going about adding the newest piece of concept art to the front page, I realized the latest pics of the Bistahieversor sculpt haven't been shared just yet. It was also to show that a base is being worked on for the tyrannosaurs in this size range.

And also a size comparison of sorts with his hand:

Proceratosaurus. So that leaves the Red Kite and Painted Redstart as inspiration for  Moros and Eotyrannus.

Eotyrannus and Moros will probably be based on the red kite and the painted redstart respectively. The red kite and Eotyrannus are both native to the UK, so it would make sense.

That Procerato is beautiful in 2D, I'm super looking forward to seeing the sculpt and how they will do shading on the white paint. A darker wash can easily make it look dirty.

David Silva has released a concept image of a Kickstarter exclusive: the 1/18 scale T. rex done up in Dino Riders colours.

Damn him. He's making me seriously want the 1/18 version now. >:(

Here's the KS exclusive since no one else has posted it yet!

It's another exclusive. This one will be in 1/18 scale the other WWD one will be in 1/35.

Edit: And in case anyone is wondering this new one will be based off the unreleased Dino Riders Tyrannosaurus.

When it comes to packaging, I'm generally not sentimental. I've been tossing all the PNSO boxes right in the recycle bin. But if the Kickstarter T. rex gets some nifty Dino Riders-style package art just like the Monoclonius, I'll probably cut off the front of the box and see about getting it laminated so that I could hang it on a wall. :D

I have to say that this has been a brilliant run, but I'm a bit disappointed by just how muted the color schemes have been.
Seeing the raptors and ceratopsians made me hopeful that the tyrannosaur figures would be a bit more vibrant and exciting than the usually hues of browns and neutrals, but I guess it went that way anyways.

Love BotM line anyways, and hope it continues for a long time, but nothing really inspirational came out of this one for me.

I was hoping that the T. Rex would have some feathers.

So was I. So were a lot of fans. But it's David's project 100% and I respect his decision even if I don't agree with it. Perhaps it came down to a choice between giving them feathering or lips. I think I'd rather have lips.

And who knows, perhaps he will do a feathered version of T. rex down the road. He's done plenty of different versions of the Velociraptor, after all.

I honestly really like BoTM's tyrannosaurus prototype project. Honestly to me and I know this is going to be a pretty unpopular opinion, it's the best of all the prototype figures shown by BoTM. I like that it does not have protofeathers and it is for me the one that is most accurately painted, its muted colors are much more realistic than their counterparts regardless of the fact that all the figures are fabulously beautiful.

Undoubtedly buying and tyrannosauroid from BoTM would buy first the all-powerful sales leader of all prehistoric animals which is in this case its tyrannosaurus rex.

Giganotosaurus

Hi folks! I was wondering, how do kickstarters work? Like, do you have to pay a certain amount in order to receive certain figures? Like, I hope to buy the T Rex 1/18 and the T Rex 1/35, how much would I have to pledge to get those when they are first shipped? Sorry if a dumb question!

I think these despotosaurs will fit in quite well into my park.
