I named it Grubby. I wasn't sure what to do with it so I put it in a pot in my office with some grass and it seems to be eating the grass which is good. If you know what it is or how I can raise it to be a healthy, wise, polite young adult bug, please let me know.

i think its a beetle? my lizard loves them.

Keep it under the dirt, digging them up can stress them or even make them dry out. Keep it in the plant pot and keep the plant watered as you would normally.

It's probably a junebug if you're in north america, not many other large beetles that place their grubs in the dirt here.

Thanks for the advice. Grubby was already exposed when I found him, and I was worried my doggy was going to eat it. I put some soil in a pot with it, and I'll water it, but I don't really have any plants that I can just sacrifice right this second. I could probably grab some on Monday though.

It's nice that you are looking after it, especially as bugs have been taking a big hit world wide in recent years.

I've noticed that there seems to be more around at the moment, plenty of bees and hoverflies visiting my balcony flowers.  Suspect that the lack of cars being driven around due to the lockdown may be helping them and leading to cleaner windscreens too!

Thank you. My mom thinks it's very strange that I have a pet grub, but, well, she thinks everything I do is strange, and has for my whole life.
