This weekend, I'm kind of busy watching movies from an online edition of a horror festival and some panels from Comic Con 2020, but I accidentally found a company called Mesozoica that intends by the end of the year to launch a vintage line of prehistoric animals based on designs of the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs, Disney´s Fantasia and Ray Harryhausen models.

Although Brazilians like me, I don´t have many informations about them or the values, but here is the facebook link and some images:

Do they have an actual website? I would love to preorder a set!

Libraraptor

Exactly my cup of tea! How can I order?

Roselaar

I applaud this company's aim! I'd love more vintage dinosaurs in my life. :)

stargatedalek

I absolutely love these designs.

Interesting to look at them and think how circular paleontology has ended up. Just look at how well fed they look. The Ceratosaurus even looks calm and all of them have lips.

CityRaptor

Oooh. While I prefer modern interpretations, I have soft spot for Retrosaurs, although those look like they might cost a bit and of course might also be a bit too big, given that I think that Retrosaurs best work at a smaller scale.

That Tyrannosaurus...is that Grumpy from the original "Land of the Lost"?
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

terrorchicken

those look really nice, they should give them monotone colors like the Invictas.

Here is the information I got:

1) As the company is starting now and all the work is still manual, they hope to have some models finished by the beginning of December.

2) Regarding values, as they are in the confection part, defining the processes, among other things, so the company still do not have defined prices; but, they believe they will have up to two months.

3) The main focus is the Brazilian market with all production done in the country. However, they intend to work with the foreign market and export depending on the acceptance of the figures.

The Crystal Palace line is getting started. They're apparently using full size scans of the original models.

Oh man! I really hope they make the Ichthyosaur and plesiosaurs, despite the fact that they're not true "dinossauros".

By the way, what material are these retrosaurs made of? I am interested in them. If they are made of PVC, they have buyer's insurance. I love these figures.

Ostafrikasaurus

Wow, all of them look marvelous! I will always have a soft spot for the "tail-dragger" style of the olden days. It's how I actually pictured dinosaurs in my mind throughout my childhood, despite Jurassic Park's best efforts. I hope they paint the finished models in muted greys, browns, tans, greens, etc., to keep with the "old-school lizardesque dinosaur" theme.

Mesozoica has shown a color test prototype of their Fantasia-style Parasaurolophus on Facebook:

I like the look of it. Hopefully, this level of paint detail carries through.

Shonisaurus

That parasaurolophus is great, I even like it better than the scientific models of that hadrosaurid. I love the models of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals from the books of my childhood, childhood and youth.

These are outstanding but the name reminds me of that scam park builder

The coloring looks absolutely phenomenal! The greenish hues and the webbed crest make this figure something I'd snap up in a heartbeat. I get the feeling that this series will make for some great "retro" dioramas. Would love to see a quadrupedal variant of this guy in the future.

I got a couple of these from Shapeways. 1/40 scale Iguanodon and Megalosaurus. I also managed to get two types of Iguanodon from Favorite Models Oldies range about 4 years ago. I'll see what Mesozoica can come up with

There is also the Kaiyodo Retro Classic dinosaur bottle cap figures which has both the Iguanodon's but the Waterhouse one is a chase figure so rarer. They are  gashapon, so small, and come in two sets of different coloured figures. Got mine from Yahoo Japan auction site a few years ago.

Do love the vintage looks, would love more retro designs to be done.
