Hi guys and gals, Alchemy works don't seem to be selling wonderputty at the moment, do any of you know of a similiar product on the market? I've used wonderputty before and other things like milliput but have to say wonderputty is the best I've used esp in conjunction with repliscale wich is also usually sold by Alchemy works. Any ideas would be appreciated :)

Hoe does it compare to apoxie clay?
My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

I thought Wonder Putty was just a kind of plumber's epoxy. Magic Sculp and Aves Apoxy are more aimed at the modelling market.

Putties I have had experience with-
Magic Sculp http://www.magicsculp.com/
Aves Apoxie Sculpt  http://www.avesstudio.com/
Amazing Sculpt http://www.amazingsculpt.com/

My fave by far is Magic Sculp. It feels nice to sculpt with and holds detail really well.  Apoxie is pretty good too.
Amazing Sculpt is much smoother compared to the other two (it was designed for customising model Breyer horses, but it can be used for other things) and lacks the firmness of the other two.
Pick either Magic Sculp or Aves Apoxie and you can't go wrong :)

I have heard good things about Procreate putty but I have not tried it.

Thanks both of you for your advice! Wonder putty was made by the Alchemy works specifically for filling and detailing models it seems like it may be very similiar to Magic Sculp as it is a 2 part epoxie resin. Thanks again I'll research all your suggestions and decide whats best for me :)

Hands down Apoxie sculpt A and B . they are perfect for sculpting repairs and seam work to assemble a kit as well as a texture pad. You can put alittle non-stick spray on the surface of the object then press a small amount , about the size of a silver dollar press it into the surface then carfully peel it back and let it harden in a few hours and you have yourself a texture stamp to replicate skin detail across your joints of the model. Its the Best.

Thanks Shane, I'll give it a go! Ilike the idea of making firmer texture stamps as I usually use repliscale wich although quick and easy makes a quite flimsy stamp. Once I made firmer stamps with super sculpey, but it was a lot of effort with the baking etc as each model needs its own unique stamp. I found using repliscale with wonderputty quite good but you have to time it just right, too early and the pattern smooths out, too late and the putty is too hard to take an impression! do you know if Apoxie sculpt behaves in a similliar way? if so is there an optimal time that you should apply the stamp? :)
