Well that was really tough.  I could probably have come up with closer to 20 choices than 10!
Yes, for me it was almost painful to exclude several of these choices. The list is certainly a subtle commentary on not only the popularity of this group , but of the brilliance of the paleo-artists who have brought their talents to bear in executing so many high quality sculpts. The very difficulty in having to limit the selection to ten figures has made it a fun poll in which to participate.

Completely agree with you. It is quite unfair in this case to pick only the top ten ceraptosids other than triceratops on the toy and collectible dinosaur market. The selection ratio should be extended to 20 or even 25 figures, it is a fairly selective choice.

Faelrin

Yep this was really hard for me to decide on as well. We are absolutely spoiled with how many good ceratopsian figures are out there these days, if not years past as well.

As far as I'm concerned, this has been the most interesting poll to participate in for quite some time, probably because the quality choices were so many and the selection so narrow (10), necessarily. It does have a very slow pace so far, though, so either few people know about it, or maybe not so many have been smitten by the ceratopsian bug. If the latter, well then, they're missing out on something good.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I'll wait to see the Machairoceratops and Sinoceratops before voting in this one too, I think.

Hopefully you'll get to see them "in the flesh," they're splendid.

11 entries with no votes! A lot of things get suggested in the shortlist phase for these polls and never get voted on. Do people forget? Or do they just not really think through how stiff the competition is?

It annoys me, especially since I've run a few of these polls now. That said, I'm probably guilty of suggesting something and then not voting for it. Usually it's because I look at the final list and find something else I would rather vote for. But yeah, 11 toys making the SHORT list and never getting a vote is ridiculous. People don't seem to realize how the shortlist process works. I think they get excited just listing off every toy they can think of that isn't already mentioned. I try to foresee my own top 10 list and then make a suggestion.

That's exactly what I do. I've tried to impress this upon members but it tends not to work! But it's not the end of the world.

I certainly would have voted for Marx ceratopsians had they been an option. Charming old-school toys...

It's kind of a bummer the next wave of BotM aren't included, but I can understand since they haven't been released quite yet.

Time has been kind to the Battat Styracosaurus, hasn't it.

Indeed, I still think it's my favorite Styracosaurus, even though I don't have it.  :'(

It stills comes up on eBay, now and then. Doesn't cost much more than an ordinary limb.

I looked it up after my post, saw a couple selling for about $50. I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet someday.

It's March 7th and 34 votes along, and the venerable Battat Styracosaurus from the 1990's is leading the pack. Quite a testimony to the enduring quality of the work done so many years ago. Too bad Dan's new paint scheme never hit the light of day -

44 votes!  It would be good to get it to at least 50 votes, so please vote if you haven't already!  It's very close for first place, currently the Safari Nasutoceratops has it with the Battat Styracosaurus behind it with just one less vote!
