The type specimen of Spiclypeus (Judith) has damage on the left side of the frill, with the bone punctured in two places.  It has been theorized this was caused by the horns of another Spiclypeus during combat.

After healing, is it more likely that skin would completely cover the area where the holes are, now devoid of bone, making the area appear solid or would the skin simply grow around the edges of the holes and the holes in the frill would be visible for the rest of the animal's life?
