Oh I see, but what flaws? Isn't it the Citizen Kane of prehistoric movies?  :D
YES IT IS

Giganotosaurus

I love Jurassic Park III. The Spino and Pteranodon scenes frightened me as a kid.
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

Meanwhile, I was enamored with spinosaurus as a kid... maybe a bit too much. Got banned from the public swimming pool for biting crimes.

You know, the female lead is pretty likable. She wants to save her offspring. As such she teams up with her partner and some other males and is succesful in the end, all while showing off how capable and competent she is.

This. I always loved how sophisticated and filled with communication, while still having flaws, the raptors were portrayed in JP3. In my opinion, I felt that JW's raptors were too outlandish (maybe that's not the right word to use but you may still understand my point). I hated the concept of raptors bonding with humans, but that's just my opinion at least. Plus, JP3 improved the raptors as compared to TLW. Probably my least favorite scene in that movie is when Sarah Harding was on the roof, one raptor below, one raptor above, but yet they immediately fight when one comes in the way of the other? Thought that was a weird scene, and just a plot armor move for the film.

The raptors were what I liked most about JP3. It's a bit goofy in hindsight but it did a lot of things I appreciate, such as showing sexual dimorphism and more complex social behavior and hierarchy. The Raptor designs are gorgeous, and I love that they gave them more bird-like eyes with round pupils which is more appropriate for a diurnal animal. They move with precision and have stiff tails etc etc, they have a grounded quality to them and are motivated by more than just eating people.

I really dislike the raptors in JW. They're always wriggling and undulating about and act more like bipedal floppy dogs than dinosaurs. They move like rubber snakes constantly snorting and snarling and don't have any of the "stillness" that actual animals, particularly birds of prey, demonstrate. Maybe it's a nitpick but it bugs me so much lol.

Agree 100%, yet this is one of the reasons I prefer JP3 over JW.

With Camp Cretaceous revealing season 4 with the idea of the other islands (Sorna most likely), I hope they bring back these JP3 raptors. Not exactly the same ones as I doubt they would still be alive after mainy years, but just their offspring in an older, more grown stage as we saw them as eggs in JP3.

You can always be a dinosaur in your heart. For example, during the third meeting of the day that should have been an email between two or three people rather than a department-wide open forum.

I agree about the raptors, Jurassic World has the worst looking raptors in the franchise. The Lost World has the worst, behaviorally, I feel like. The JP3 raptors are the best looking. It's not enough to save the movie for me but I'll acknowledge what they did and didn't do well.

Lynx

There should be a topic for JW problems, in my opinion, there's more than enough to make its own thread for.

Anyhow, I also agree about the raptors. They feel like Canadian geese mixed with a magpie, if you know what I mean. All the dinosaurs in the movie feel a lot more like animals than the other movies, the exception being JP2, which nailed it with the herbivores.

Other than the terrible acting, I thought that movie was very fun!

SOMETHING I'VE BEEN MEANING TO ASK: Are there any real-life examples of Sorna-like islands (I.e. Similarly-sized, equatorial or near-equator islands w/both Hawaii-like tropical rainforests & California-like conifer forests)?
