ROM Primeval Predators Set

Hi All;

As of March 10, 2013 - the last spare set has been sold so nothing more is available.


Per my earlier offer to help other forum members get a set of these figures (I'm local to the ROM).

Primeval Predators™ set includes

Wiwaxia corrugata (a mollusc-like animal). Model size 6 cm.
Pikaia gracilens (a chordate from the same animal group as humans). Model size 8 cm.
Laggania cambria (a predatory dinocarid arthropod). Model size 12.5 cm.
Olenoides serratus (a trilobite arthropod). Model size 12.5 cm.
Opabinia regalis (a predatory dinocarid arthropod). Model size 10 cm.

The Pikaia is in the figure also (long thin white figure that almost fades into the background).

A while ago there was some interest in the ROM Primeval Predator figure sets. As most of you noted the shipping charges were rather excessive.

Please note that the old link to the ROM Primeval Predators page has been disabled by the ROM. Figures are only available via their gift shoppe now. ROM Gift Shop price is 39.99 Cdn$ plus 13% GST (sorry the Government gets their taxes) for a set (and that does not include shipping). I also have found out that the web page has out of date pricing.

I picked up one extra set at the previous lower price of 29.99 Cdn (plus tax) so if anyone is interested just PM me.

Please PM me if you are still interested in me buying you a set of these figures and shipping them to you that price plus actual shipping cost.


Using the online Canada postage rate calculator, the postage rates will be as follows:

You need to PM him and say you will buy a set--he's not buying a bunch in the hopes of selling them (as far as I know).

sbell is correct - this is strictly a "I'm buying only as many sets as people have requested" kind of deal. I am not selling sets.

A few of you have already PM'ed me.

At this point based upon the number of members requesting a set we are still buying at the regular figure price of 29.99 Cdn.

I will be going to the ROM late next week to but them so if anyone else is interested please send me a PM.

  Final reminder to those who may be thinking about it. I will be going to the ROM this Friday to get the Primeval Predator Sets. And as Bugs Bunny says "that's it folks".

So how did things go?

  Six of one and half dozen of another.   

Bad news first - One of my kids was sick (nasty viral bronchitis going around their school) so I spent the day with him at home. He's feeling better  - less coughing  (thanks to an inhaler) = sleeps at night. Me, I get a decent night sleep again.

Now for good news - I have put the order in and I will go pick-up the sets next Saturday - so I can get them all sent out  shortly thereafter (hopefully in time for some peoples Xmas).

Glad your son is feeling better - schools are hives of infection    Curious - what does the ROM charge for shipping in Canada?  I still can't understand how they can charge $48 to ship to the lower US (I mean, it's downhill - gravity should help); I wonder how many they sell.  Thanks again!
