So what was prior advertised as an upcoming Legacy Collection reveal for today's Beyond the Gates is just a bundle of the new T. rex, Therizinosaurus, Gigantosaurus, and an exclusive(?) Dominion Ellie figure. What a waste, and a pretty scummy move here ngl. Most folks probably have the Therizinosaurus, and/or T. rex by now. I don't have any of these but unless this bundle is discounted or on sale it's a pass for me, especially with barely any way to gage paint apps, even if the box art is nice.

And bet that the last Legacy reveal will be the Dreadnoughtus.

I agree, it's a disappointment. All well, more money saved.

At this point, all I kind of want is that Dreadnoughtus. And with poor reviews on the film - I mean Mattel has to have a set number already made by now, right? These things take 3 months just to get into the states, not to mention everywhere else. I kind of keep fearing another 'First-run Spinosaurus situation'... 😳

I don't think that Mattel sales will suffer due to poor reviews of the film. Although poorly received critically the movie is proving popular among fans (79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes). I don't know if the kids are enjoying it, but probably, and so between kids, fans of the movie, and collectors that buy anything JW even if they didn't like it, I think Mattel will do just fine. This set has no value if you already own the T. rex or Therizinosaurus so we'll see how well it does. The absurd thing is that people will pay the $119.99 for it just for Sattler.

I am very excited for the Dreadnoughtus toy, although I am dreading the price tag. :P

So the price was $119.99. About a little cheaper then buying all three figures separately with Ellie thrown in for free (Theri is $34.99, T. rex is $44.99, and Giganotosaurus is also $44.99, according to Mattel's website), so barely discounted even. Definite pass until it goes out on clearance. Shocked to see it sold out already too? That was like instantly. Again I'm not interested in getting it at this price (especially with Target's nonsense of taking a hold, releasing the hold, repeat until finally shipped), but I do find that strange. Even the other pre-orders lasted quite a bit longer. Unless it didn't actually go up for order quite yet.

Edit: At least the box art is nice:

I'm also looking forward for the Dreadnoughtus, but I don't even know where I'll be in 2 weeks still, let alone when it eventually releases here a few months from now. Especially considering that the Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus already own quite a bit of my bed's unused space. Also who would have thought Mattel would be the first to give us a figure of that animal?

AFAIK, Transformers toy sales didn't suffer as a result of the movies being absolutely terrible (with the exception of Bumblebee).

I didn't bat an eye at this until I realized that Ellie, the only unaccounted for Legacy character of the original trio, got crammed into this nonsense. Something tells me this is gonna be a complete miss for the line. Not only is the price off putting to casual buyers, but the fact that it's just a repack of (mostly) readily available figures will probably deter buyers even more. Then there's the fact that it's gotta be absolutely enormous to accommodate all of those figures, which I'm sure will eat up retail shelf space to the point that Target probably won't even want to stock it at brick and mortar stores for long. On a positive note, hopefully that means it will be clearances out very quick after being released

Why didnt they just pack Ellie with the moros repaint

I'm seeing a lot of people blaming the sell out as there were no limits on orders and bots. I'm not seeing one person who actually bought it anywhere.  I saw the pics last night and figured man this thing will be around for a long time.. either I'm woefully underestimating the value here or something is wrong with target's site.  I'm still not worried though about finding it at retail. I'm sure it will show up.   Missed opportunity though to have a battle damage Giga with holes for the Therizino's claws to fit lol

idk, but I'm sure we will get a mainline Ellie figure too. Not too worried there.

Roar Strikers series Liopleurodon in hand. The action feature looks nice.

Yeah safe to say it was scalpers and their bots that bought it up instantly. I mean I was straight up checking Target's website simultaneously this morning at 8am Central/9 am EST. Not once did I catch it available. Not that I planned to buy it this morning anyways, but wow what a blunder for anyone that did have intentions getting it.

it actually came into stock around 4pm i think?   https://www.target.com/p/jurassic-world-dominion-epic-battle-pack-figure-set-target-exclusive/-/A-84794397#lnk=sametab

I am glad I do not have any of those three dinosaurs. I have been focused on getting pre-Dominion figures first, to fill in the gaps and holes in my collection. Sometimes a Dominion toy will sneak in due to a buy one/get one free promotion my local Fred Meyer offers every so often.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I've seen a few posts on facebook groups that seem to indicate the dinosaurs in this three pack are smaller or different than the regular/single releases in quality? I'm not seeing it myself?

avatar_Blade-of-the-Moon @Blade-of-the-Moon Weird that it was delayed, but at least it wasn't bots/scalpers. And no idea where they are getting the idea that they are smaller. They are literally repacks, down to mechanisms, etc. Even the product description on Target confirms that they are.

Edit: Still showing up as in stock. Wonder how long that will hold.

Probably some influential but uninformed person claimed it first and the rest follows like sheep.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Yup, that's a genuinely good-looking toy and I'll probably buy it unless some other company announces one pretty darn quick.

Well I doubt Safari will make one anytime soon, they just released that Patagotitan, and PNSO has an aversion towards sauropods. If we do get one I would bet that it would be from either CollectA or a company like Nanmu that'll make it look like the Jurassic World animal.
