JURASSIC WORLD: CAMP CRETACEOUS---Netflix subscribers posted a screenshot of a now-deleted item from Netflix titled "Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous" which led to fan speculation that Universal Pictures and Netflix are working on the next JURASSIC WORLD sequel.

Pachyrhinosaurus

I think its was said to premiere with a Fast and Furious movie so fortunately it isn't some kind of Netflix exclusive for those of us who don't get that.

Considering buying Netflix for a month and seeing a movie in theaters will cost about the same amount, that's a hard disagree from me. Frankly this feels like a sleazy way to make me pay for a Fast and Furious movie.

Faelrin

I already have netflix (through a shared family account) so I might check this out once it comes out, or rather if it does. The speculation I've seen on it suggests it could be another Lego Jurassic World thing? But who knows at this point.

If nothing else, some people will learn that there is a geological period containing dinosaurs other than the Jurassic.

QuoteSet in the aftermath of 2015's Jurassic World movie starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, DreamWorks Animation's Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows six teenagers stranded behind at an adventure camp on the other side of the island. Their experience takes a turn for the dangerous when they're left behind with the escaped dinosaurs and have to come together to survive the wild prehistoric creatures.

The series comes from the creative minds of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Colin Trevorrow. Scott Kreamer and Lane Lueras are the showrunners of the new series and also executive producers.

The promo artwork doesn't seem to match with the teaser CGI.  The show is aimed for kids, so I'm not expecting much... but... MORE dinosaurs.  That said, more JP style dinosaurs - further entrenching the JP style in the collective memory of people.

Pachyrhinosaurus

It reminds me of the animated Star Wars spinoffs I've seen advertised. Hopefully it ties in well with the original trilogy.

Also I hope it comes out on DVD then so those of us who don't get Netflix can watch it as well.

WHAT ARE THOSE KIDS DOING IN JURASSIC WORLD JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!

Though looking at the promo pic more it might be how a bunch of kids that got stuck on the island during the first movie's break out. Like how there are some museums that let you sleep over in them. JW might have done something similar... And then the Indominus gets out and the kids are forgotten... That's my bet anyway. CG doesn't look too bad. Might see this one.

brandem

Does anyone else remember the plot to the old scan command: Jurassic park game?

CityRaptor

Yep, but minus the scanning.

Uh, that is the plot mentioned right under the video.

Kinda worried, given how annoying teenage characters can be.

Well, what did you expect? It's part of the franchise at all.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I'm going to assume that our group of teens all come from different backgrounds and have diverse interests that at first Drives minor internal conflict all the while they learn that relying on each other and the bonds they form are essential to surviving the island.

Together they, along with the friendly raptor Blue and the menacing but benevolent Rexy, will take on the islands many hazards and most fearsome predators, including an heretofore unmentioned pack of wild raptors living in the islands abandoned zone.

Now who wants to put a wager on that?

stargatedalek

Raptors in the abandoned zone was implied as far back as the promotional content for the first JW. Also, we could just as easily see a Troodon as the "dinosaur character" given the live show is hard canon. Other than that though that sounds like an easy assessment xD

I could see that with a troodon, though both the tell tale and evolution games depicted them as lurking poisoners.

There's nothing that says they can't deviate from that, but I really enjoyed the idea that they cloned the intelligent, social, bigeyed troodons expecting them to be a cute dinosaur for kids and ended up with milky eyed murder machines.

Faelrin

I might still give this show a chance. I have to wonder if Mattel is going to have toys for next year's possible lineup based on this show too.

Looks like the show is still happening:

Here's a fan poster made by movieposterguy (on twitter, etc) with a lovely render of Bumpy, the Ankylosaurus:

The renders came from the Bumpy figure that was spotted in Australia, and I think another poster too?:

Sarapaurolophus

Nice to see they remembered that girls like dinosaurs, too.
Allthough two of these girls look like the same character but colorswapped. Babysteps, I guess :P

The dinos looking not as cartoony as the humans is a bit weird. Bumpy seems to fit in well with them, tho. Cute kid-appeal character and I'm glad it's not a predator for a change. I was already dreading more raptor repaints.

Einherjar

Really poor character design imo. Just looks very off the shelf and uninspired, like every other cheap cg kids show out there, which doesn't instill a lot of confidence. Hopefully it's well written and well acted, but I can pretty much already hear what they sound like in my head.
