I just got my Cryo by mail. The detail on this thing is incredible (the crest is intricately done). The head has an organic bobble and the jaw allows for a natural resistance and it is possible to shut it completely or partially. The sound effects are quite varied and loud, like really loud. As far as theropods go, I prefer it over the Albertosaurus and Allosaurus (and, even the Carnotaurus and Suchomimus). It packs more detail than the T-rex and Indoraptor and Spinosaurus but less detail than the Indominus Rex. The colors are beautiful and brilliant - I am drawn to it the same way I was to the DR Quetz v. 2 or Chasmosaurus. It looks amazing in person! :)

Got in Amber Collection Charlie. I still much prefer the prototype color scheme. Though this bright green isn't terrible. Just a little shading on the head would've helped (like on the brown raptor). The head just looks to plain. Here's the video review for those interested. https://youtu.be/xuzq_TtP1LA

It's not as accurate as I would have liked (not sure why they gave it white hands and feet), and I'm not a big fan of the grey along the white on the tail. It just looks messy to me. I agree that the head could use some more detail too, at least some blending, although Charlie didn't have any markings on the head so they got that kind of right. Other then that, I'm honestly thinking the Savage Strike one is the more accurate of these (minus the head shape, and teeth), in regards to the coloration and markings (particularly the shade of green used, which I thought was too bright earlier on the SS figure, but when compared to this, I guess it isn't after all). I think the prototype pic a while back was much more accurate. Kind of disappointed with it if I'm being honest. Additionally I'm not too happy that scalpers have these before major retailers. Same goes for Owen and Blue (though Blue was at least on Amazon earlier though I missed it).

Good review though and glad to have a comparison of all of these.

^^Oh my god I NEED that Postosuchus! It hits me right in the nostalgia, remembering how I would ogle the packaging that showed the JP Series II Ornithosuchus, Scutosaurus, and Estemmenosuchus that were never released.

And then I somehow missed the two later releases of that Ornithosuchus-ugh!

I love the Kenner-like paint jobs for some of these guys, def a nostalgia kick.

Yeah but i've only seen her and Charlie being bought at Toywiz

Blue was on Amazon for pre-order, but hasn't been back in stock since. Basically just scalpers have stock of these now, other then the two JP ones first released.

Blue was for preorder on amazon with an April 1st release date. I'm sure Charlie will have a larger release after blue. Also Blue is already shipping from Amazon Canada.

Well new stuff is starting its slow trickle onto store shelves!

Just visited Fred Meyer and they had the Cryolophosaurus and the first wave of new Savage Strike figures. Also the new brown Extreme Chompin' Rex.

I picked out the Sauropelta, and they had just put these out because it didn't ring up. Lucky for me the clerk just rung it up at $4.99 as a "Garden" item, and I chose not to correct him... ^-^

I saw the new carnotaurus and the tarbosaurus. I already have the older carno which I like better, and the tarbo looked too Chap Mei-ish for me.

I agree. Something about the Tarbo seems off even though it is well proportioned overall (the spikes look cartoonish and could have been made somewhat more rugged). I also prefer the old Carno. The new Carno eyes look flat, almost animated. Sometimes the eyes mess up the look for a figure. While I like the Sarco and plan to pick it up, the eyes make the figure more cartoonish than it should. I absolutely love the Cryo.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I think the Tarbosaurus redeems itself once in hand. Lots of detail that the paint job just doesn't bring out.  The subtle motion you can give it looking side to side is pretty cool.  My one change would be the neutral position would be with the mouth closed.

In case folks are interested the Amber Collection Blue and Owen are now on Entertainment Earth for pre-orders (no idea why they don't have Charlie though):

And in case if anyone missed it, they also have pre-orders for all of the first wave Primal Attack figures, with the exception of the attack packs. Particularly of interest would be the Postosuchus and Edmontosaurus I think.

I'm waiting for the Dilophosaurus, I've read Owen reviews that he's not that great looking. Blue..I have a of Blues..lol looking around me here I see 4.

Those preorders for the edmonto and Postosuchus were up back in Sept when I made mine.  If there were a  lot of preorders, they fill the first ones then move on to the next so you may not see them come in stock for a bit.

^thanks for the links Faelrin! I actually cant decide which Amber raptor I want. I thought Id definitely want Blue but something about the paint job is bugging me, the stripe mainly.

the head does look...weird. The sculpt looks really different.
