Hmm, I think the coloring of this could be improved upon by extending the cream and brown tail barring the entire length of the tail (bonus points if it were slightly adjusted so the redish brown barring is a slate grey like the actual pheasant tail feathers). Then extend that cream from the tail all the way up the underside, replacing the pink.

It's not bad but the blending on the belly/making it pink is sort of odd looking.

It also doesn't have the normal head and neck of the Golden Pheasant, instead pasting the body colours there. That would help add a lot of contrast and frankly it's the most appealing part of the bird.

Shonisaurus

The dilong is very colorful but nevertheless the colors that show the prototype paint are a bit off. I was hoping it would be like the pheasant they showed as a painting model, we will have to wait for them to reveal the fully finished prototype, meanwhile in my case, it is too hasty to judge said figure.

Faelrin

Well I have added the Dilong concept art to the first post. I am going to be eagerly waiting to see how the final prototype will be. I agree with folks suggestions here, but I also like it the way it is too. Also the bright colors kind of reminds me of strawberries and mangoes of all things.

Dilong! I love the colors on this dude

Very nice! I was afraid we'd just see the exact color pattern plastered on, making it look too literal (my favorite complaint). But I am, too, missing something that makes it stand out from the Raptors line. I guess it'll come down to seeing the final toy :)
So far I am really liking the fade from red to grey with the clashing blue stripes. It's certainly unique looking. They might use their metallic blue to do these, which could look interesting.

Honestly this is the best dilong ever made by a dinosaur brand to date.

I could not be more pleased with this sculpt. I'm so looking forward to seeing this painted up too. It looks to be a good size to use it with the accessory packs too. It's the same length as the raptors at least.

For anyone interested, it will also be coming with its own base, and two sets of toes like the raptors (running and standing). It's also going to be one of the initial available figures in the kickstarter next year (similar to the sub-adult Triceratops I guess).

I'm not super interested in the Tyrannosaurs, but this looks pretty good. Maybe I missed something, but are these gonna have 2 options for the toes? Also, that stand, I'm getting flashbacks to the raptor series stands...

I really hope all the 'Tyrant lizards' have lips. Its time to toss out the JP stylization legacy of exposed teeth  ^-^.

Would you agree that if the angle joints (and maybe some of the toe joint) would have been stiffer, the raptors would be able to stand on their own? Even though the raptor feet are small, I have the feeling this might be the case.

I've gotten mine to stand if it leans on the wing tips or tail. One of the ankles is stiff and the other is loose, I have no doubt if I were to glue that one joint in place it would stand easily.

avatar_Loon @Loon Yep it is going to have two sets of toes. See my prior response above yours for more info.

I too must admit I am concerned with how getting this to stand will work. While I have had little to no issue with the Velociraptor and others where the body clip snaps on to the pelvis, the Dromaeosaurus pair has not been so lucky, although I'm aware the second run contains a fixed clip to fit their wider pelvis parts, but since I backed it and have the first run version I miss out on that.

I'm honestly hoping there is some indented or flat parts in the base to line the feet up even if it takes away from some posing options. Like have it look like muddy tracks or something.

And it's going to have the Harris hawk's colour scheme. Interesting.

Since we aren't getting an Appalachiosaurus this will be a good replacement.

Here it is for folks that don't use FB:

I really like how this is turning out, and the color scheme chosen for it, but well it is based on one of my favorite birds of prey after all, the Harris Hawk. Though maybe not as straightforward as I was expecting, but still it is fresh looking. What I also find interesting is that this one is not as feathery as the Yutyrannus.

That coat or down coat on the dryptosaurus gives it a majestic look. The painting of the animal is also very elegant.
