ROY HESS in the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie

Not quite sure if this is the right board for this post to be in, but since it concerns the Jim Henson 'Dinosaurs' series I think it's okay to go here

Context;

When the second trailer for the FNaF movie released, fans quickly spotted this head in the background of a shot of Freddy standing in one of the back rooms, with a bunch of equipment and spare pieces strewn around. Many were quick to assume this head was from Withered Foxy, a variant of Foxy from the second game, due to the lighting of the scene not really showing off any colour it could have had.

Back in March, during production, some FNaF-based YouTubers were invited on set to film and talk about the movie, resulting in clearer images of the head surfacing online.

Personally, I believe this is a dead ringer for one of the animatronics used on Dinosaurs. This would make sense, as the Jim Henson Creature Shop designed and created the practical animatronics and suits for use in the film, and would have access to these head for use in set design. Here are some other character heads mounted up in Jim Henson workshop-

Due to the green eyes, the configuation of the teeth, and the shape of the head, I believe that this head belonged to Roy Hess, Earl's best friend from the show.

So, what does this mean? Not much. I'm just glad to see that the animatronics created for and used in such an underappreciated show are still getting use in some way, even if it's not as one of the focal characters. I personally think Roy's right at home alongside Freddy and his cohorts, at least in the state he's in 29 years after the series he starred in concluded.

I don't think it is, the eyes are the right color, but the teeth aren't the big thick tyrannosaur teeth Roy had and it looks a bit short? Also comes to more of a point and not the wider shout Roy had.

I couldn't get any clear images of Roy's upper teeth, and the lower ones aren't visible in the images of the skinless head. Roy also seems to be the only head missing from the image of the ones grouped together on the wall, which makes me think this one could be him. If we could find a better candidate somewhere else in Dinosaurs that would be great, though.

Roy's upper teeth pretty much match his upper teeth except the upper teeth fit over the outside of the lower jaw when closed ( first tyrannosaur with lips anyone ? lol )

They are large teeth not at all like the ones in the head which almost look canine, probably fox like? they are small and numerous with tiny canine "fangs" looks like.

I think the teeth on the side of the head do look pretty big, like in this picture. It's just that the front ones are small, which is similar to Roy's front teeth on his bottom jaw.

Another WAY higher resolution image of the head dropped. I definitely think this is Roy

You can even see the parts that were used to animate his expressive and prominent eye ridges

Now that one looks like Roy. But the teeth look wrong in the first image..maybe they switched them up?

Could be how blurry it is, but it looks like more mechanics or something behind the head on the right side and the front teeth at least look very fox like, just tinier with canine teeth?

Faelrin

I watched it tonight on Peacock, but totally missed him. Anyone know what part of the film he was in?

He's in the background of some of the shots in the back room that the Freddy kid ghost leads Max into

Production has begun on the second film, and we've been shown a work-in-progress version of the actual 'Withered Foxy' head that the Roy Hess prop was thought to be. Wonder if any more props from Dinosaurs will be in the background this time

Thought that was an entelodont for a second.
