I got the older 2014 version before the new one was released. The same for the Velociraptor; I got the Deluxe version this year before the new version for next year was revealed. The irony...

There's clearly some wallydraigle(s) out there with a major hate on for BotM, because the review already has a single star vote. Pretty sure every single BotM review has at least a couple of single stars. It's quite preposterous.

Probably someone who hates articulation and/or colorful Dinosaurs. In other words, someone who likes them as grey blobs.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

There's definitely a few individuals who get off on "hate voting". Not just for BotM but other companies too, like Haolonggood and PNSO, as well as objectively good figures such as the CollectA Mosasaurus and Hammond Collection Carnotaurus. It's hard to find a review without at least one 1-star vote.

I forgot to mention earlier that this was my most researched (as far as how many papers I read and dug through, although the Mattel Borealopelta's came close), and probably one of my longest reviews, if not my longest. I spent nearly all year working on this on and off after I recieved the figure in March, and restarted this review several times over because of my chronic depression, etc. In any case this is my last gift to the Dinotoyblog and forum for 2023. Happy holidays, and happy new year. Next up from me is the CollectA Koolasuchus, hopefully finished sometime next month.

Also a shame some folk(s) have hate voted, but no doubt it will be drowned out in time considering how much praise and reception this figure has gotten.

Prehistory Resurrection

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin , Hats off and respect to your hard work. The Beasts of the Mesozoic figures are already perfect, but your in-depth and thorough review got an easy 5 stars from me. Take care, best wishes from me to you, hope things turn better for you and a Happy New Year full of prosperity, joy and happiness to you and all members as well.

Now that I think about it, this was the first year since 2019 that I put out a substantial amount of reviews (well 8, but beats the one or two from the past few years). Despite everything terrible going on in my life I'm surprised it hasn't held me back from doing all these. Perhaps the new environment (although not ideal, but hey no more black mold I'm breathing in, edit: having moved from in April this year), and my surgeries the past few years (especially one pertaining to my transition, edit: late last year, the other was in 2021 for fixing my deviated septum, etc) has helped my health improved despite the chronic depression sapping my energy and interest at times?

Well and of course can't forget the figures themselves, the key subject matter of these reviews. Not to say that there weren't great figures from prior years and all that, but I suppose the selection I've tackled this year has helped fight back against the overwhelming disinterest my depression plagues me with.

Anyways glad to see folks have been enjoying it, and thanks for the well wishes too.
