These are fun. I don't think Fuzzy Fossils have been discussed here yet? They're a line of plush prehistoric animal skulls (and fossil teeth and such) from the people who brought us 'Giant Microbes'. Here's their Amazon page: https://amzn.to/4dLVUEp

The following species are in the main line of skulls...

Pteranodon:

T. rex

Triceratops

Megatherium

Woolly mammoth

Velociraptor

Diplodocus

Allosaurus

Stegosaurus

Smilodon

In addition to smaller key rings, there are also extra large versions of the T. rex and Triceratops skulls.

It seems an unusual choice to put eyes in the orbits.

I've mentioned this before but they accidentally placed the eyes in the wrong spot on the Mammoth and Ground Sloth skulls

Yeah, they'd make for interesting reviews. No plesiosaur skull yet but I'd expect them to put the eyes in the wrong sockets if they make one (which I hope they do!)

Of all of these though, I really love the Diplodocus the best. More sauropods in this style would be excellent, especially a Brachiosaurus or Camarasaurus.

This is a fun series of plushies! My local natural history museum has several of these in their gift shop, as well as their Cambrian inverts

I think they did this because all of Giant Microbes' plushies have little eyes, regardless of what they are

crazy8wizard

I really like the Giant Microbes series and I have a good sized collection of them. I will admit sometimes the microscopy photo gets misinterpreted and leads to similar goofs as the mammalian antorbital fenestrae. For instance this plush that represents Clostridium perfringens is wide and frilly because the microscope photo is out of focus and the cell is dividing.

Halichoeres

I guess the eyes give 'em some personality.

The eyes on the skulls are kind of fun, but why oh why are there extra eyes on the Opabinia instead of on its actual eyes?
