Quote from: Gwangi on October 13, 2024, 02:43:33 AMIt took me four clicks to like a post on the Animal Toy Forum today.

I just had the same problem in the "Dinosauria Volume 2" thread.

Using Chrome?

It's difficult for me to trouble-shoot this because I don't experience it, even on Chrome.

Those of you experiencing this, are you using VPN and/or ad-blockers?

I've reset the forum's cache. Does this fix it for anyone?

I just tried to 'Like' this last post on my home laptop and got the same phenomenon. A bar at the top flashes 'loading' for about a second, if that, and then I have to click it  a second to for the like to activate. But only one click to un-do the like. Same thing on the ATF. I use Chrome but I don't know of any specific ad-blockers (at least none I specifically set or established). I can say this is a new phenomenon, as I have 'liked' posts in the past with no issue.

I also just tried on my phone and had the same experience.

I'll try again tomorrow after I restart my laptop; maybe I need to catch-up with the reset cache.
I'll also try at work tomorrow on my work laptop, again using Chrome.

Yeah, I'm wondering if it might be related to Chrome's cache on your individual browsers, rather than the forum's cache.

avatar_Samrukia @Samrukia Did you do anything to your browser settings to get it to work?

It's so difficult to debug problems that come and go like this!

That's very odd. Do the likes appear on posts in the same thread or different thread? Is anyone else experiencing this?

There's definitely something fishy going on but I'm struggling to find an actual cause for this glitch. I updated the PHP version the site uses recently (maybe two weeks ago) so it could be related to that.

for most of time lately i was reading Haolonggood thread, i noticed that there.

now it seems fine. i click like button and it works from the first attempt

I suspected so. I think it's a Chrome browser setting, but it's difficult to pin it down since it doesn't always happen, so it must also be time-sensitive, maybe something cache-related that resolves itself after a few seconds.

Does resetting your cache/cookies for the forum resolve it, even temporarily?

Edit. I've also reset the cache for the entire dinotoyblog.com domain, and played around with a few other forum settings. Please let me know if the problem is fixed, no need to reply if it persists.

Thanks, that is helpful to know. I think we can now be confident it's a minor incompatibility between the forum and Chrome.

And to be honest, it's no big deal.

Sure, and the easy fix is to just disable the like feature, but now I want to get to the bottom of it!

For me, it still takes multiple clicks to like a post.
