Fantastic job to all who participated. I voted for the Valley of Gwangi, Coastal Carnage, and Longhorns. And I have to give a my thanks to everyone who voted for David and Goliath. Competition was tight this year, and I'm very honored that my work was worth one of your all's votes. Until next time.

Congratulations to all participants! In times when great forces are doing everything they can to destroy our creativity and initiative, you have succeeded in transporting a small piece of primeval time into our consciousness in a creative way. Yes, we do have a first, a second and a third place, pretty cool, but the bottom line is that it's more than a hollow phrase when I say that everyone is a winner!

I still need to check the votes. Need to fit it around the day job and MTB launch.

I've posted the results! https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=11690.0

My own diorama was Twisted Tango! Thanks to the two people who voted for it. I made it in a bit of a rush on the last day. It contains two paint variants of the Carnegie Collection Tanystropheus. I imagined one is a male, the other a female, in some kind of mating ritual. There's an Easter Egg in mine, too, I wonder if anyone noticed that the landscape is actually a plaster cast of a genuine theropod footprint - the 'heel' is to the right, the three toes to the left. Here's a crude outline in red:

Years ago, when I still participated in these, I took the same two Tanystropheus toys to the lake to take diorama pictures. I didn't end up using them in the contest though and I'm not sure if I ever shared them here.

I'd like to see them. :)

I didn't put much thought into choosing them to be honest, as most of my toys are still in boxes from when we moved house, so I simply opened up a random box, and these happened to be on the top... choice made! And the footprint usually lives on my fireplace. From inception to finished diorama was probably about an hour, and I'm pretty happy with the result.

I didn't have a dinosaur footprint for my diorama, just a rock. For a thrown together diorama yours is quite good, it encourages me to get involved next time. Even if I can't or don't want to do a lot it doesn't mean I can't do something. I've been taking outdoor pictures for my blog reviews all summer long and it would have been just as easy to throw a quick contest photo together. Heck, one of the winners is a toy crossing a log, and it is a fantastic entry. Anyway, I'll have to see if I can find my old Tany pics.

I voted for First Snow because it really put me in mind of an old-school museum diorama.

avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum : Never heard that footprint story before. Very interesting!
And, yes,  avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres and B @bmathison1972 , "First Snow" is an interesting, charming work!

Congrats to the winner - which I voted for, great diorama!

Thanks to Dr Admin for running the contest and also to salute the two fine twisted minds who used their valuable votes on my effort (Number 8, behind the scenes at Jurassic World).  Many thanks!

Like Dr Admin, mine was a just in time effort too and I didn't have too much time to put it together. I'll have to start pondering next year's entry now.

Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to everyone who submitted an entry! Even though there were fewer entries, each one added something different to the group, so it was interesting and entertaining to view.

My diorama was First Snow. Thanks to those who voted for it— I'm happy to know people enjoyed it despite its non-dinosaurian subject. I thought I might not be able to enter this year, but came up with this idea two days before the deadline and did my best to bring it to life. I wanted to show the young calf experiencing the first dusting and drifting snow of the season and discovering the now-camouflaged hare. I painted the background with acrylic to represent a mammoth steppe habitat, with clearing storm clouds, and the foreground descending into a small valley with a stream that the animals had visited. The foreground surface is olive-green felt with baking soda for snow and some dried bits of plants. For the tree I cut and reshaped the artificial evergreen pieces used in my picture from last year. The figures pictured are the Safari mammoths, TNG mammoth, Ikimon NTC hare, and Kaiyodo reindeer.

Thank You very much for your vote  :))
If you'd like to see more pictures, I've posted the first part with further scenes in the diorama section.
