Even my sister has become a creationist and believe prehistory is a lie, that earth is only 2000 or 5000 years old.

I think once belief merged with ones identity, it's easier to deny logic or facts than welcoming the unconfortable truth of being conned.

That's how cults & conspiracy theories work. Nobody wants to accept being the fool after all that time.

There are and will be written books on this. Short story is self brainwashing through excessive and and exclusive use of "social media" as the only "news" source. Usually only one or two platforms even. As the algorithms and vast majority of content providers on all platforms are profit/agenda and not learning motivated and the human mind being the way it is, this will become an even bigger problem then it already is worldwide. Some countries are starting to wake up and banning sites or even better mobile devices from classrooms/age restricted. It will get worse before it gets better.

The only vaccination is a good education for adults. For children, devices and social media out of their lives until they have received education and some maturity.

I said short story but I shamelessly lied, since we are tribal primates our subconscious are a lot more open to this sort of manipulation and self re programming then a lot of us like to admit. It is the same mechanisms that over time turns politicians into dictators, we are not supposed to never hear the words "no" or "that's not a good idea" for decades.
