These dinosaurs are so iconic!

As there are so many out there who really like Kentrosaurus I think I can reveal something of interest. I have recently started to work with some paleoartists to commission 3D printable models of the Tendaguru fauna.

And the first one happens to be Kentrosaurus, which has been modeled to the skeletal reconstruction of Scott Hartman and the mount in the Berlin museum. The 3D designer who made this is VFB Paleoart and the prints will be available through Dinosauria Creatures.

A first version is ready, but this will still undergo some modifications. The Kentrosaurus will be available in two, probably even four different poses, maybe later also juveniles in one or two poses. The idea is that it will be possible to create a small herd of Kentrosaurus.

I will start a separate thread on this Tendaguru project as soon as we have more. The next species is most likely going to be Elaphrosaurus.

Update on the Alamosaurus, because there is concern that this is already sold out in most places. Lana has informed me that a new batch of Alamosaurus is going to be produced by Haolonggood, but this will only happen at some point after the Chinese New Year Holidays. Apparently sufficient quantities have been pre-sold already in order to meet the required minimum number for a new batch being produced. So no worries for those who have missed out on the Alamosaurus.

Turkeysaurus

Great to hear these large sauropods sell well. Maybe they won't stop after Diplodocus afterall.

Paleo Flo

Is a Diplodocus-Release safe?  :o
If that will be true....oh man...another exception?  O:-)

i don't think they will! :D
sorry for offtopic. i asked ChatGPT what are the most popular and famous Sauropods, here is the list:

Brachiosaurus
Apatosaurus
Brontosaurus
Diplodocus
Argentinosaurus
Seismosaurus
Titanosaurus
Saltasaurus
Camarasaurus
Mamenchisaurus
Alamosaurus
Euhelopus
Brontomerus
Shunosaurus
Isisaurus
Opisthocoelicaudia
Dreadnoughtus
Amargasaurus
Rhoetosaurus
Rebbachisaurus

"This Top 20 list combines the most iconic and largest sauropods with a mix of other interesting species that are important in understanding sauropod evolution."

BlueKrono

Bajadasaurus isn't included despite being in the news for its recent discovery and having its own Jurassic World toy, but Opisthocoelicaudia is? Man, AI sucks.

That sounds nice, the Alamosaurus got out of stock very quickly. I decided not to risk/wait and bought one of the last in a shop in Nederland (the only UE shop that sells Haolonggood) and got it in 3 days!  ^-^  They still have in stock the Limited edition with base and pterosaur (that limited edition won't probably be done again in new batches) so if you want it... https://www.speelboer.com/modellen/haolonggood

No this is entirely speculation based on what people think are the most iconic dinosaurs. It could well be that Haolonggood decides to make a Barosaurus or Supersaurus because there is the Rebor Diplodocus in 1:35 scale already.

Joliezac

I am perfectly happy with my Rebor & Eofauna Diplodocus, so if HLG decided to make one I would save money

Flaffy

I wasn't satisfied with the neck posture of Eofauna's Diplodocus. And less said about Rebor's the better.

I look forward to seeing HLG's take. Hopefully with a more upright neck.

I'd love a Diplodocus from HLG too.
I like the Rebor one that has a good size, but too many skin folds in my opinion.
It's like a mix of elephant skin and scales, a bit overtextured.

Duna

I would love a HLG Diplodocus. I am not satisfied with my Eofauna figure, it's too small. Currently it is on display with my HLG sauropods but I want to leave its space to a true 1:35 diplodocus (with a thicker neck base similar to the Mamenchisaurus).

$95 is the current pricing. As expected with HLG sauropods the price will likely go up from there as time goes on.
Surely we have enough time to wait for some reviews and more in hand pics to come in, I hate that they hike up the prices, a cause for stress, I'd rather pnso's fixed prices with the frequent sale.

I fully agree. This rushed pre-sale for less than 10 days and then exclusive items that you only get when you buy during pre-order are business practices that I do not really like.

One could understand how they did this for the Alamosaurus with pre-order and the base, because it was the first large sauropod and they wanted to minimize their risks.

But this is now large sauropod number four and they know that in all likelihood this will be a success.

Carnoking

I agree that it's kind of a backhanded practice but on the bright side, I'm sure Lana could reasonably accommodate a change of mind should in hand photos/reviews sway you before the ship date.

Flaffy

I don't doubt it's an efficient method to accumulate sufficient sales to meet a breakeven / minimum production quantity for the figure though.

Not sure why but when accessing this site on mobile my posts either aren't posting or occasionally are being removed.

But I agree. I dont necessarily fault them for giving incentives to pre order early but I do find their (imo) poor promotional images to be problematic. HLG by far seems to have the most amateur promo images on their sales listings compared to any other company and that combined with the high price tag and pressure to order as soon as possible is frustrating.

This would be my first HLG purchase and first purchase of a model without seeing an online review. So I am very hesitant. And I am not in love with any of the paintjobs unlike the Argentinosaurus.

I'm waiting to see some reviews and if they rise the price before than then they lost a buyer so

Changing topic slightly I am very much puzzled by two things actually.

First the non-reveal of the Concavenator outside of the box and second the non-reveal of the 2025 catalog.

I have tried to channel through Lana the information that having at least some advance knowledge of forthcoming large sauropods would be very helpful because many people will need to budget for these.
