Dear all,
I don't know if this is the right place/way to ask, but I was wondering if some of you would be possibly interested in creating a « fossils section » on DTF ?

I would be interested. The only fossils I have are a few ammonites and shark teeth but I would love to see others collections and future acquisitions.

Nice :D  on my end some Meg & abelisauridae teeth, crinoid sections, bivalves and ammonites. Would be also keen on seeing the collections of other members ! Indeed, such a thread could potentially interest fossil hunters/collectors/enthusiasts👍🏻

There's already a thread on fossil collecting: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=3141.0

Though I made a separate thread as well for my own collection.

Ok, thanks for sharing ! Actually the thread is not easy to find and I didn't come across it yesterday.
May you please kindly share the link of the thread for your own collection as well ? ;D
It's a pity as this topic doesn't seem to be particularly spotlighted on the forum.
I mean, the latest activity dates back to 2021 ?...

This forum is characterized by an enormous diversity of interests. Mostly it´s collecting and talking figures and models of prehistoric creatures. Sometimes threads get "buried" under tons of other stuff, but there are probably some fossil lovers among us. But that shouldn't stop fossil enthusiasts from building a small docking station here if they wish. So go ahead and revive the fossils thread ^-^ I would definitely take a look at it again occasionally :)

I've been visiting the forum for over a decade and the fossil discussions are mostly related to new scientific findings, like this one: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=11459.msg373840#msg373840, or how fossil findings relate to prehistoric figures.  I've been really blown away by how much some of the contributers know and have read as they discuss the accuracy (or errors  >:D ) or a particular figure or model.

I tried to get a fossil collection thread going way back when I joined.  At the time I was living in Texas during my graduate project and coming across fossils of Glyptodonts, Mammoths and tons of marine invertebrates and thought I'd share them, but there wasn't a lot of interest.  I think fossil collecting is sort of an incidental part of most members' collections, tho maybe that's changed since then?

Here you go: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=7523.0

I haven't updated since 2020 but I'd like to get back into photographing my collections sooner than later.

EDIT: Just added a few pictures I had on my computer.

Yeah, I'm rather new on the forum and having skimmed through the various threads, I've come to that observation too.
Nevertheless, some of you here appear to hold some amazing pieces !
The primary idea in background of my proposal was not only to exchange about our own collections, but also to ask other members their expertise to mutually help each other with the identification of some fossils etc ?...

Superb collection, many thanks !
That's so cool & motivating, I'll also try to shortly share some pieces of my own collection  ;)
