These look nice but I'll probably hold off on pre-ordering for as long as I can. Would love to see the Cyberzoic color alternatives for the newbies before committing.

"I'm never going to financially recover from this."

Blade-of-the-Moon

I've taken to waiting to order til they are about ready to be released to order.

Eatmycar

Imma be honest the prices on these are kinda wild. Pachy at 55? Stego at 200?

Trike was a much better price... and in this economy?

Sorry, I wanted this a lot, but not for these prices when the improvements on the figures are incremental. I'm expecting Stego to be a massive brick as well.

Never mind the Cyberzoic version which will not be complete without the armor and the pilot.

Blade-of-the-Moon

These might take tariff prices into account for the U.S. customers now?  Things have only gone up though.

Q: "Damn, that stegosaurus is a beast in size and price... I was counting on a price around triceratops/torosaurus, but oh well, maybe I'll be able to save up for it before it sells out"

A: "This is an understandable expectation for many I'm sure, but there are some things to consider. The Triceratops/ Torosaurus pricing was established back in 2019, and the production costs are higher now, not mention the potential impact of the new US tariffs. Also, Stegosaurus has significantly more parts than the Trike design, which adds costs for assembly, more paint surface, and tooling. And Stego has that huge tail as well. So while the base body sizes of both are comparable, it's these differences that create the price discrepancy." - David

David also has plans for a 1/35 version of the Stegosaurus eventually.

I'm afraid I might have to desist of my intent of getting both Allosaurus..

The Andrewsarchus is beautiful, but I'll stick with my non-articulated CollectA model!

I generally prefer static models too, but the CollectA Andrewsarchus to me is still too Mesonychid-like. I believe the BotC model is the very first to incorporate anatomy based on the latest phylogentic positioning within Cetancodontamorpha.

I'm glad to see David address those concerns about the pricing, but it's exactly what I expected. It's nothing new at this point, and his business is also smaller compared to the many corporations out there. One thing I remember taking away from one of the many streams was that much of the profit made on these figures is put back into future figures (other then paying the folks working on these things). It's nice to see David at a point where he no longer needs to rely on kickstarter for some of these new molds (though I imagine the future Cyberzoic armors and humans might still need it). His business has come a long way from where those of us supported his first action figure line in 2016. Hard to believe it's almost been a decade since that first BotM kickstarter launched.

I too am glad to see David have enough resources to release figures without the help of crowdfunders. That just means more figure diversity for collectors to choose from as they're not restricted to "series" anymore.

His raptor series way back in 2016 was historic in the dinosaur figure scene. And I'm convinced it's success contributed to the rise of articulated dinosaur models nowdays e.g. with the Hammond Collection. Here's to another decade of high quality dinosaur action figures!

Well, it's still known only from its skull, so who's to say? And it's much less mesonychid-like than earlier versions by Safari, PV, others.

That's true. Though for me personally, it being recovered so close to the Entelodonts makes me lean more towards BotC's reconstruction.

Noideaforaname

Species variety and price hikes are a hell of a combination.

The alt colors for the Stego and Andrew at least have been shown off:

I think I'll wait for the Cyberzoic Andrewsarchus, mostly since the BotM one is oddly similar to the Utahraptor.
Incidentally, as someone with zero interest in the Dino Riders gimmick, I'm real glad they sell the repaints separately.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I wish the colors were airbrushed on like this watercolor Cyber stego art more than just straight up painted with a brush. I think the blending looks better

Yes, but I recall seeing those designs but the translation of color to the actual figure is always interesting to see

Pre-orders are now live. Some last minute price adjustments it seems?

Preorder/ MSRP
Andrewsarchus $59.00/ $64.99 --> $44.99 / $49.99
Smilodon (1/18th) $34.99/ $39.99
Stegosaurus $184.99/ $199.99
Allosaurus fragilis (1/35th) $54.99/ $59.99 --> $49.99 / $54.99
Allosaurus jimmadseni (1/35th) $54.99/ $59.99 --> $49.99 / $54.99
Crylophosaurus $59.00/ $64.99
Pachycephalosarusus $54.99/ $59.99 --> $59.99 / $64.99

So price decreased for both 1/35 Allosaurus figures and the Andrewsarchus. Price increase for Pachycephalosaurus. David's response:

"The pricing for Pachy was raised slightly, while the pricing for the two Allosaurus figures and Andrewsarchus was lowered. I neglected to factor in the amount of accessories and overall size initially. Apologies for any confusion."

I am of the opinion that the alternate battle damaged head-piece was not necessary. Would've likely helped lower the price of the figure.

Flaffy

Lowered price for the Allosaurus seems more reasonable now given the size compared to the previous 1/35 figure.
