Okay,im just gonna say it;
this is the best Tyrannosaurus figure I have seen (non resins)
I think this is the first theropod HLG was superior in. They already beat PNSO in their herbivores, but this is a new step. Congratulations avatar_HaoLongGood_Elsa @HaoLongGood_Elsa

Spoiler
but im still sticking with my safari ltd tyranno 🤣😭 maybe one day lol

The colors are very nice. Not something I've seen on a Tyrannosaurus before, despite the plethora of figures. Very vivid and colorful. I do still wish it had lips though. Also is it just me or does not look as deep chested as some of the more recent figures? Like I almost get 90's T. rex vibes with the sculpt here.

I'd like to see an image of this rex with its mouth closed.

Joliezac

Are these the only color schemes? Looks really great. I still feel the Triceratops is one of their best models but this rex really looks good. I'm extremely picky with rexes because I have so many. I will wait to see more images but this looks great so far!

Turkeysaurus

First of all finally it arrived and so suddenly   :o

Does lower jaw have lips or am i dreaming? and upper doesn't ?

Colors look good and i bet real thing would look even better these extra bright promo pics. It looks a bit on leaner side but i think reasonable amount. (That Triceratops would maul this T.rex though let's be honest  ::D )

Is it "the chosen one" we all have been waiting for? Nope. Is it the best T.rex available? That's the argument. I think making a case for it is alone an impressive achievement, especially how much HLG got better compared to their first T.rex.

I also hope we have more than two variant. Limited edition or something. The green one.

it reminds me of this paitning i adored as a child; a large tyrannosaurus with blue and pinkish tones charging at the viewer? I tried to find it but it was a futile attempt. Perhaps someone else knows?

NGL this might actually be the first time I genuinely want a Tyrannosaurus figure, now that i keep looking at it. I feel like a kid again, no longer concerned with "diverse genera" (tho tbf i only have one actual Tyrannosaurus on display)
;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

I am on the fence right now. The colours are great, the pose is good, the body is big and beefy, and the skull has the correct shape, but it doesn't have lips. And that irritates me probably more than it should in light of the fact that Haolonggood's previous two tyrannosauroids have lips. Either go with lips or don't go with them, but make a choice and adhere to it.

Again, I'm on the fence for now, but I'm more keen than ever to see PNSO reveal their latest version of the sovereign.

I think Haolonggood is tied with PNSO for herbivores.  I also think the Haolonggood Carcharodontosaurus and Carnotaurus are better than the PNSO versions of these animals.

Well, I haven't been waiting for a new Tyrannosaurus! :P  As I said when I got the PNSO Cameron, I don't think I'll ever need to buy another Tyrannosaurus again.  The new Haolonggood Tyrannosaurus look nice, but I'm satisfied with my Cameron so I don't need Haolonggood's.  What I do need is a Torvosaurus tanneri.  Please make this species Haolonggood!  And Tuojiangosaurus!

That's gorgeous. It's definitely got that "gracile morph" flavor to it. It looks a lot more like the W-Dragon Stan, than the barrel-bodied Kiss, or Cameron.

W-Dragon "Stan" V1

I rather think people are going to be divided on the lips. It appears to me at this point that the upper teeth will slot down into the lower jaw when the jaw is closed, making the model appear fully lipped. I actually think HLG just might have figured out a way for the model to appear simultaneously lipless (open) and lipped (closed). I just don't see how those teeth would end up outide the lower jaw once the mouth is closed. We shall see...

Does it have too many teeth in the skull? Perhaps it's the pattern of placement, but it looks toothy, like 2 or 3 too many.

The pose feels a bit flat to me right now. I won't say it's lifeless, but it's a very standard, almost "vetruvian man" kind of pose. I did feel that way about the Carchardontosaurus as well.

HLG/GR Toys Carchardontosaurus

Perhaps I'm spoiled a bit by PNSO's dancers, as frustrating as they can be to keep standing. HLG definitely lags a tiny bit behind PNSO when it comes to posing it's figures, especially theropods, IMO.

This will be my second HLG theropod. As a Tyrannosaur-centric collector, I skipped the Daspletosaurus, because I just could not get past look of it, especially the integument on the skull. The Triceratops and the Stegosaurus are my two most treasured HLG figures to this point, but this new rex certainly has got my interest piqued.

For those keeping score, that's RECUR, REBOR, and HLG so far with new Tyrannosaurus rex figures in the 120th Anniversary year. Showanna's Scotty is shipping any day, as is REBOR's Kiss repaint. PNSO next? Papo's new feathered rex soon?

It's a good time to be a T. rex fanboy.

The colors remind me of the Kaiyodo Dimetrodon

or the UHA Dsungaripterus

P.S. You lot are the only ones that might possibly understand my mental associations.

Looks great! Good thing I don't really care for or against lips! I'll likely be grabbing one.

A closer look at the business end...

Finally lol Teeth look sharp and that's about all that matters to me in regard to that area.  The blue tones instantly reminded me of the Dinamation Rex :

The question now  really is "do I need it? "

Good news that this drawn out wait is over and we can finally move on to something else to eventually be released from Haolonggood.

In my opinion Haolonggood missed an opportunity by choosing to not giving this T. rex lips. They could sell a lipped T. rex to people who are happy with PNSO Cameron except the lack of lips.

Not easy to understand why they did not take advantage of such an opportunity for boosting their sales figures. Particularly in view of the fact that sooner or later a lipped T. rex from PNSO will come out.

SenSx

Yep I'm just happy we can move on to something else.
I guess Giganotosaurus is next as they want to release all big hitters, and after that we can finally have releases that interest me.

I'm only interested in next pnso lipped T-Rex.
I alwready got a lipped Cameron that is supperior to this Rex imo, even if it was lipped.

Over9K

I'm callin' it now...

It's got full lips  when the mouth is closed. There's no way those teeth end up outside the lower jaw.

Sim

I too am keen on getting past the Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. I find them uninteresting. If this Tyrannosaurus does lack lips, a reason for why could be obtained from the development of Haolonggood's first Tyrannosaurus. They received feedback to make the teeth more prominent and made it so on their first Tyrannosaurus. Perhaps in China the teeth being so visible on Tyrannosaurus is preferred.
