Something has bugged me about the mammoth, and now I know what. Its walk is incorrect, if the walk is based on current species, which it should be IMO. Elephants walk in a very specific way: left hind foot forward, left front foot forward, right hind foot forward, right front foot forward. This is called an amble gait. If I remember correctly, three feet should be planted before the fourth one is moved as well, due to an elephant's size. The left back foot should be forward before the right front foot is lifting, which it is not; they are lifting at the same time and are on different sides. This mammoth is using a cross walk, which deer use. The two lifted feet are on opposite sides; i.e. right front and left back forward, then left front and right back forward. The position of the feet is a cross walk pattern, not an amble. Watch a video of an elephant walking and compare it to a deer; you'll see exactly what I mean.

Even if any of these represented new taxa I highly doubt I would be getting them.

Thanks, avatar_Saarlooswolfhound @Saarlooswolfhound , height and length would be quite adequate. Appreciated.

These are available on Lana.

I ordered the Arsinoitherium, even though I find these figures to be poorly done, kinda cheap looking. However it might be more accurate than the CollectA one, which has incorrectly positioned horns, a longish neck and that unappealing sparse fur of a different colour that CollectA puts on some of their mammals. The Earth Story one seems to have the right proportions but is excessively wrinkled. I'm just gonna have to compare them in hand to see which is the least ugly. I just wish that the excellent TNG one would finally get released.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

No doubt about it, the gradual emergence of TNG has been a boon for us few collectors of extinct Cenozoic mammals. I intend to get each of them as they become  . It's important to support quality productions, since the market being what it is, if we don't, its 'bye-bye'.

Sorry this took so long to do! My measurements for the mammoth (hopefully these are helpful! let me know if not and I am happy to remeasure):

From the front tip of the tusks to the tail tip is 22cm. From the front edge of the trunk to the tail tip is 17cm. And from the bottom of the foot to the too of the head is 12cm.

That is perfectly fine. From your measurements and also the images on this thread, it would seem that it is closer to my 1/25-1/30 scale Carnegie Safari Wooly Mammoth than to the 1/35 TNG that I also have. Thanks for taking the time and effort to do the measurements.

Here is the Arsinoitherium. I think it is better than the CollectA one, but because of its skin texture and paint application it's still almost as ugly. Much better proportioned though. Still, I've had the CollectA one for so long now, I don't want to get rid of it, so I'll keep both. However, if TNG ever releases theirs, it'll replace both. Oh, and when I ordered from Lana, there was a warning that Earth Story figures easily chipped paint, and sure enough there are several scuffs on it.

Thanks, avatar_triceratops83 @triceratops83 , good to see the image and yes, the proportions look better, though the paint job has a cheap look to it. I'll wait on TNG myself.

Saarlooswolfhound

Thanks for showing it! I think the only ones I am really interested in are the daeodon and dunkleosteus. I keep going back and forth on these rhino/elephant relatives.

I have a soft spot for their deinotherium, but so far it isn't a priority in any way
