Since it was probably not appropriate to post it in the "Recent Acquisitions" thread, I thought it would be interesting to create a thread in which everyone could relate a story and/or a fun fact about their toys.
Thus, I'm taking the liberty of starting with my little « Lucky », the Stegosaurus I got for free this evening from the kind owner of my newsstands, whereas I was just supposed to pick up a parcel ordered on the internet and which had no connection with a dino toy...

Once upon the time... No, I'm kidding !

So, the shop is supposed to close at 7PM and due to multiple issues, I arrived there about 10 minutes before its closure.
The clients before me were two young boys and their mother.
They were already talking with the owner who suddenly took a package behind their counter and, which turned out to contain... about 30 small dino figures !
They wanted to offer to each kid a figure and after a moment of hesitation, they chose a Pteranodon and a Trex ::)
Anyway, I was the next customer and couldn't help but tell the owner : « I love dinosaurs, may I also get one, please ? »
Their answer : « Okay, but you have to know the name of the dinosaurs ! »
Then, I started giving them the name of each dinosaur in the packet, but my eyes were like instantly attracted by the Stegosaurus, at the bottom of it...
Can't explain why, but had an instant crush for its shape as well as discreet colours.

And I left the shop, with my parcel and this little guy, well-nicknamed « Lucky » *-*
Even if it doesn't have an outstanding "facial value", it has now, at least for me, a sentimental value !
My warm thanks to this cool owner.

Please, feel free to share here your own heartwarming/uncanny experiences related to your dino toys acquisitions.

That's a nice story! Good to see your dinosaur knowledge came in handy.  ;)

I don't think I have a similar story to share, but if I think of one I'll think of this thread.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Should probably order more stuff on the internet so that I could go more often to my favorite pick-up point^^ ;D
Yesterday, for the third time, I got this Brachiosaur only against a smile and a few names of dinosaurs, still from my super kind newsstand's owner !

This is the story of my 3 unexpected cuties, Lucky the Stegosaur, Storm the Triceratops and Gingko the Brachiosaur O:-)
