Showanna needs to up their game in terms of delivering on the quality and detail sold in the promotional materials. This does not look like it's going to get there.

The more I see of this model the more it reminds me of PNSO's Winter Wilson. Which would have made this a great T. Rex figure if it was released three years earlier.

Thanks for posting photos!

As a previous Rex collector, I was definitely anticipating a drop in quality from the prototype photos. It doesn't seem as bad as I would have thought. Yes, much of the finer detail was smoothed out, and yes the teeth and mouth area have been made safer, but it still successfully portrays the "elderly" vibe they were going with. The coloration is a bit disappointing though, much harsher transitions (like the lower legs) and not as much of a green hue remains. I'm particularly not as excited about the eyes, but that's a quick fix.

I love how "aged" it looks in general though. Many figures we get seem they are from the prime of the animal's life, rather than an elderly individual, and this kind of thing is welcome. Imagine having an elderly version of all the consumer recognizable names. A hulking Triceratops with overly long horns, a ragged frill, and bulkly neck and body. A large sauropod that is even more titanic in feeling, neck drooping and scarred legs from a rough history. Love that we're heading into the consumer era of the sculpted Individual, rather than an all-encompassing mass descriptor; I know this is a bit controversial, but it's a personal opinion of mine.

I am excited for Showanna, they are probably starting with rexes due to both the anniversary and to stabilize their financials in their new plastics department.

If they gave it full lips , it's mouth could shut down perfectly. Now it has permanently open mouth with a crooked grin. Haolonggood has a gap at sides and Showanna has on front.  :(

I'm most curious about this Showanna T.rex sales. It was obvious for Haolonggood to sell well at that price. (also different color)

I wish showanna best because they have great potential.

Hey, good people, May is passing away and still no word yet as to when Showanna will be releasing rex. Any news or at least hints?

I've been back and forth on whether to get this guy or not. One minute I want it, the next I don't kind of thing. Those in hand pictures look pretty decent, and it shows the scars of ancient battles and its age pretty darn well. I like my theropods with  teeth showing even though I know they likely had lips (I am warming up to lips, however).

This guy definitely looks like a living dinosaur that has endured life's hardships and triumphs, unlike most dinosaur toys that are usually prim and proper and without a "hair" out of place. This guy has seen some stuff...

This doesn't look like a representation of one of the biggest T. Rex specimens. It's way too skinny for me.

PNSO Sue (cameron) vs SHOWANNA Scotty

I feel that aesthetically,  Scotty displays better next to Wilson than next to Cameron.

o7 On it boss.

PNSO Cameron x Showanna Scotty shall have the shipname "Camerotty".
PNSO Wilson x Showanna Scotty shall go by "Scotson".
I shall pen a non-smut AO3 Shipfic oneshot each for both of these ships within the quadrofortnight.

...Okay but in all seriousness. I don't understand what the hell they're waiting for. Not like they're like Papo, who have dozens of other products in circulation and can afford to delay single launches where needed or even if they just feel like it.

Just got this from LanaTime...

QuoteDear Customer,

We hope this message finds you well.

We are writing to inform you about an important update regarding the SHOWANNA Studio 1:35 Scale Tyrannosaurus Rex Scotty Model. Recently, SHOWANNA Studio has received complaints from some buyers, stating that the product quality does not match the promotional images, leaving buyers disappointed.

In response, SHOWANNA Studio is offering a full refund for any unshipped orders. However, due to the extended order timelines, our website system cannot process some refunds directly. If you prefer a refund, please contact us directly and we will work to find a suitable refund method as quickly as possible.

If you would like to convert your payment into another order instead, we are happy to assist with that as well.

As a gesture of goodwill, for customers who choose not to request a refund, SHOWANNA Studio is offering a $13 discount on your next preorder of any PVC product.

If we do not hear from you by June 1, we will assume you agree to proceed with your order and will arrange shipment accordingly.

If you prefer a refund, please disregard the rest of this message.

For U.S. customers:
Due to recent changes in U.S. customs policies, we've had to adjust our shipping method. The good news is we've secured a duty-free option through Yun Express, meaning you won't need to pay any additional fees upon delivery. If any charges are mistakenly applied, just let us know—we will reimburse you.

However, shipping costs have increased. To use Yun Express, we kindly ask for an $15 shipping surcharge, payable via this link: $15 Shipping Difference

If you prefer not to pay the $15 surcharge, we completely understand. In that case, we can ship your order via sea freight to our U.S. warehouse, and from there it will be delivered domestically with no extra charge. Please note this method will take approximately 45 days.

If we do not hear from you by June 1, we will assume you agree to the sea shipping option.

Please let us know your preference at your earliest convenience.

Best regards,

Lanatime Shop

They also included some more recent photos of what I *think* is the production version of the figure, I assume to assist in making the decision to get a refund or pay the $15 and get the figure...

I'm getting the darn figure!

SenSx

I find it pretty good, the thing that does not match the promotional images is probably more the paint job.

SidB

Ah, June 1 for the USA. So, I'm guessing that the Canadian orders should approximately around a similar time frame, or at least not too far off.

Congrats, you get 13 dollar discount coupon for a figure you want to buy anyway. :D

I hope they make enough profit to continue produce PVC models quite long time.
