Coincidentally, I bought the Mattel Legacy Diplodocus two days ago.

The video is so blurry and the perspective so unclear, I wouldn't count on it being 100% a diplodocid, it's a large sauropod for sure, remember there was also a Titanosaur in the teaser poster.

My wallet would also apreciate not being a Diplodocus...

SenSx

I would love a definitive Diplodocus, and that would make sense for them to make one.
Although I was trying to retrain myself, I alwready had a good Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus, and with the space problematic, I don't really need a diplodocus...And now they do this...

I'm tending now to agree with the comment that the brown shows the detailing somewhat better. Maye that's the way to go.

I appreciate Haolonggood's new figures for this year except for the Tyrannosaurus, particularly the Saurolophus and Euhelopus, both which were needed, but I find myself disappointed by how none of them appeal to me.  Unless there's something not yet hinted at that I'll like, the only Haolonggood figure I think I'll get this year is the Deinosuchus.  I guess Haolonggood wasn't thinking of me when they decided what species to make this year!

...and someone in comment section turned up the brightness:

I wondered if it was a theropod as well. The neck looks to be a bit short, but the width of the tail could say otherwise. I guess we'll just have to see.

Torvo
It's got a duck beak? No Theropod skull flares out at the tip of the snout like that. That and the thick tail say Hadrosaur 100%.

Initially when I saw the white mold I thought it was the old Edmontosaurus, so I made a comparison in order to have a closer look.

It is clearly a different sculpt.
The duck beak is not so evident as on Edmontosaurus.
The neck is shorter and broader, the torso is also more robust.
Unfortunately the hips are masked, that would have given us a better idea.
Based on the hand size, the new mold is clearly bigger than the Edmontosaurus.

Diplodocus would be awesome..but I'd also really like a Barosaurus in the classic rearing up pose.

I have noticed Aliexpress adds taxes for shipment price too next to product's tax price which is 60% plus for me ::D

I rather be a mammalian in mesozoic than collector from Turkey at this point.

Hips don't lie.

Hopefully this will have a really good size. Haolonggood has had a tendency to dwarf their ornithopods somewhat.

Yes I hope as well.
If it's not big enough for 1/35 I'll just get the Paleokhris one.

We don't get a lot of the Shantungosaurus  genus coming our way, do we? I also would hope that this colossal hadrosaur avoids the fate of other HLG hadrosaurines (on the small side). Here's the size that I'd loke to see, showing my old 2016 PNSO vinyl Shantungosaurus over against the hefty PNSO Edmontosaurus (I didn't get the HLG one because of the size issue, plus that I already had PNSO's excellent one):

suspsy

I think it will be around the size of the CollectA Deluxe Edmontosaurus.

I've wondered about this, too. I'm guessing it's because Shantungosaurus doesn't have distinctive headgear, and the most notable thing about it (its size) is hard to convey in a toy unless a company is willing to make a large figure. Which is kind of a gamble when hadrosaurs aren't as popular as other groups.

All this to say, I'm happy that Haolonggood is making one, and I can't wait to see it painted up.
Check out my customs thread!

:o

Along the curve should be around 39-43 cm range for the model.  PNSO Edmontosaurus is measured 33.5 cm (along the curve) by DinosDragons youtubechannel. So it should be almost %20-30 larger than PNSO Edmontosaurus.

Shantungosaurus was likely the largest non-sauropod to have ever walked the earth. There are excuses as to why the other hadrosaurs were undersized, but not this one. It is famous for being really, really big.
I want this one to be a huge!

Rayeknor

Shantungosaurus or etiher a genus of Palaoloxodon or one of the giant hornless rhinos was for sure the largest non sauropod animal on land, and Shantungosaurus was also the so far largest known biped to ever walk the earth.

thomasw100

Honestly I do not understand why Haolonggood has dwarfed most of their ornithopods while the sauropods have been essentially spot on in terms of size.

I could see that they made the other hardosaurs sufficiently small to sell in large enough numbers.

But Shantungosaurus is really something for the real enthusiasts and its only selling point is the size.

I mean the species name giganteus says it all.

SenSx

Yea the big size will THE criteria here, if they fail, I'm not buying it.
