A recent purchase turned out to be quite the surprise! Happy Kin a fairly mysterious brand, at least especially when it comes to their dinos. I found this pterosaur I have tried to grab a few times and was finally successful- but his companions turned out to pretty great too. The first group are all Happy Kin solid figures- there is a big articulated stego too but I will have to grab a photo of it a little later.

The group

Marked  Criorhynchus

Argentinosaurus

Carnotaurus (obviously not); also the one one marked Happy Kin

Iguanodon (weird face)

Ouranosaurus

Kentrosaurus

Baryonyx- smaller figure

Euoplocephalus- smaller figure

So does anyone know more about these? I'm interested both for TAW and myself.

Then there were a few chinamal bonuses- weird figures but also pretty charming in their retro feel. Any thoughts on species?

Definitely keeping the spinosaurus here for my collection-  trying ro decide if I want the others.

I recognize some of those as having been released in other sets from Lontic/Nayab/others.

I think they get repurposed quite a bit

I did a deep dive on these a few years ago. As far as I can tell, the company is called Xidi, or Happy Kin(g?). Their logo is a smiling dude with a crown. They have been imported and distributed by a bunch of North American companies, including Lontic about two decades back and Kid Galaxy currently. The same or very similar molds find their way into assortments of cheap dinosaurs sometimes. But there are a few released in China that I have never seen in North America, like the Abelisaurus, Koreaceratops, Germanodactylus, or Shunosaurus.

They're often referred to as Lontic because that's who was importing them when DC set up this site: http://www.dinosaurcollectorsitea.com/lontic.html

Thank you both! I knew these were nayab-esque (moulds used by a variety of toy companies) but they aren't on the Toy Animal Wiki so I am hoping to contribute these there. Thanks!

I'm a little surprised that you have one marked "Happy Kin." I've never seen that, although nearly all of them have a genus name stamped on them (such as "Scaphonyx" for their gangly dicynodont).

Yeah I found that interesting too since out of all the other models I own from them, not not one has the brand stamped on it.

Not the best photo as I was aiming for the species stamp but you can see "Happy Kin" on the bottom line.

And thank you for the discussion link! I will definitely check out that thread.
